Not a good choice: Even though canestan is an antifungal, it would not be the drug of choice for oral thrush. If you have thrush-like symptoms on your tongue, you should see your dentist or physician, because there are several different medications used to treat this yeast-like fungus, depending on the severity of the thrush, your own health, and your immune strength. It would not be wise to treat this yourself. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Oral Thrush (only on tongue) from more than 1 week. Using Fluconazole (150mg) 1 tab weekly & candid mouth paint but no benefit. What to do?
Needs evaluation: The question is 'why' you have thrush on your tongue, and 'is it even really thrush' - which is OFTEN misdiagnosed. Thrush, by itself, is relatively harmless -but it can be an indicator of more serious disease such as diabetes, lupus or immunologic disorder, or even HIV/AIDs. Usually thrush goes away with proper treatment- but sometimes the Candida albicans that's causing it, has some resistance. ...Read more

Not serious but:
Depends on how long ago on antibiotic. may not be related. thrush is a whitish coating on the cheeks or tongue...it won't come off if you scrape it gently with the edge of a spoon....it isn't serious but if this seems to be the case you can wait until tomorrow to call your MD.
Raspberry tongue is different & not related to the antibiotic. Take a look@http://en. Wikipedia. Org/wiki/Glossitis
