What could happin if u have sex 2 weeks after a hysterectomy?

Cuff Dehiscence: Stitches are placed at the top of the vagina to close it. Stitches typically take 6 weeks to fully dissolve. While they are in place, the top of the vagina is more rigid. Anything in your vagina too soon can tear your vagina, called a vaginal cuff dehiscence. This leaves a hole through which your small intestine can fall. It's a serious situation that requires immediate surgery. ...Read more

How does having a hysterectomy when young affect sex desire?

How does having a hysterectomy when young affect sex desire?

It doesn't: If you have a healthy sex drive before a hysterectomy, you should have a healthy sex drive afterwards. For some women it is even better, knowing they will not have pain due to endometriosis or fibroids, and they can't accidentally get pregnant. If, however, the ovaries are removed, changes in hormones including decreased testosterone can occur with possible decreased sex drive. ...Read more

I am 43 yrs old and is it weird that I don't care for sex anymore and yes, I've had a hysterectomy. All I care about is my kids and dogs. Lol?

Is it weird for YOU?: Not caring about sex is only "weird" if it's weird for you. Have you heard the expression, "sleep is the new sex? " if your life is busy with kids and animals, and your work and relationships are satisfying, I wouldn't worry much. On the other hand, if you're depressed and feel disconnected from life and love, talk with your doctor - decreased libido can be a sign of depression. Good luck. ...Read more

If I need a hysterectomy, does that mean my sex life is over?

If I need a hysterectomy, does that mean my sex life is over?

Absolutely not: After a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus), the vagina continues to function as a sexual organ. A total hysterectomy, which removes the uterus and cervix may leave the vagina slightly shorter, but should still be long enough. If the ovaries are removed in a woman who has not yet undergone menopause, then estrogen therapy may be indicated to keep ph, vaginal moisture and pelvic blood flow healthy. ...Read more

Will my sex life change after my hysterectomy? I'm concerned I will stop enjoying sex after I get a hysterectomy? Is there risk of loss of desire or loss of sensation? .

Removal: Removal of the uterus does not prevent pleasure from sex. However, if your ovaries are removed you may have less vaginal secretions and there could be some thining of vaginal tissues. If you did experience vaginal dryness, there are hormonal creams that can be helpful or vaginal lubricants. Some women who have had removal of ovaries do experience a decrease in sex drive (libido) but that is not due to a loss of sensation. There are many women who feel sexual freedom because they are no longer worried about becoming pregnant each time they have intercourse. Take care. ...Read more
