Yes: Each time their mood changes they have to learn to live with their new emotions. It is not easy. Also, if they have a mixed mood state they can find themselves experiencing optimism and pessimism simultaneously and this can be extremely confusing to the individual.
If depressed patients > likely forego procedures due to pessimism, are medicated depressed patients more likely to say okay due to iatrogenic optimism?
Medical complaints: Depressed patients are more sensitive to pain and complain of medical problems more often. They are at risk of undergoing more unnecessary medical diagnostic procedures and starting pain medications than other patients due to the severity of their complaints. The psychiatric treatment would decrease the intensity of their problems and improve their tolerance to procedures if they are needed.

Yes you can...: Unless anxiety is very severe, regular anxiety symptoms could be treated with lifestyle routines that can help make you feel more relaxed. Mediation and or prayer, exercise, yoga, art (any type) making can help relieve symptoms. If despite of doing all this you still experience symptoms then I would say it is time to see a therapist.
