My ophthamologist has told me for 3 years that I have severe cupping that he says might occur in 1% of pts. Meaning?
Depends on factors: like your visual field results, your optic nerve topography, your race (as in african americans the cup may appear physiologically larger, but is considered normal), and s/he needs to discuss what impact that has with YOUR eyes. If the pressures are normal, the cupping has not progressed, your vision is good & pressures normal, s/he may be monitoring you for now. Ask your eye doctor for sure! ...Read more
