Photo documentation.: A black/ blue spot under the nail in a 16 year old is probably nothing more than a bit of dried blood trapped under the nail. This could be the consequence of a minor bump of the toe of a pressure injury. Without actually seeing it, I guess it could be something else, but I doubt it. Discovered one white: White discoloration usually comes from fungal infection , black could be from fungal infection/dry blood/very rarely skin cancer. It is best to see a podiatrist to get examined, possibly cut back the toenail and get sample of the nail for culture and possibly biopsy of the skin under the toenail, if needed. ...Read more
