Open sore on vagina won't heal. I have herpes but not sexually transmitted kind. I'm under tremendous stress. May have hypothyroid also. Have the antibodies.
Maybe herpes...: Hmm... You have a misunderstanding about genital herpes. There is no such thing as "not sexually transmitted kind" of genital herpes. However, rarely causes prolonged open sores. Nevertheless, herpes is a possible cause if you have some sort of immune deficiency disease or are taking immune suppressing drugs. I cannot be sure, but a painful skin lesion with swollen lymph nodes near by very well could be the very dangerous staph (known as mrsa). It must be seen and treated urgently.

See your OB/Gyn: The vagina and vulva (area on the outside of the vaginal canal) can have many different lesions or colored bumps. Without seeing the lesion it is hard to know what it could be. A biopsy should be considered to remove if it persists. Moles, skin tags, STDs and even cancer like melanoma can cause these lesions. Aqueous based sexual lubricants can help. Soreness after sex is due to swelling from friction.
