Try it: Hair loss at your age is hypothyroidism until proved otherwise because you will become bad-sick if it is missed. Your physician needs to be in the loop. These "natural healing" people make unsubstantiated claims and trash one another's products with little or no science. See a dermatologist: Decrease stress. Eat a healthy balance diet which includes protein. Have thyroid levels and iron stores checked. See a dermatologist for evaluation and work-up. Lots of reasons: Go see your family doc and even get a referral to a dermatologist specializing in hair loss. First, remember that stress can lead to hair loss. Child birth & hospitalization are classic causes of stress but so is surgery. Hair eventually comes back several months later. Thyroid disease can do this too. So can too much testosterone & its derivative, dihydrotestosterone. So get tested and see derm. ...Read more

Could be months: Your hair is not lost, just breaking off. It should grow out normally, but may take several months since hair grows intermittently not continuously. Give it time, and avoid chemical treatments. Continue the iron to build your blood count back toward normal. ...Read more
