Quite Common: Sockets from wisdom teeth extractions heal from the inside out so it is quite common for there to be a 'hole' one week post extraction. If the area is hurting or swollen i would recommend contacting your dentist and ask if a post-op check is indicated. ...Read more

About how much would it cost w/out insurance for a single wisdom tooth extraction? I only have one, slightly impacted, and hasn't come out of gum.
How much is a tooth extraction if you don't have insurance? I desperately need one tooth to be extracted, but don't have any insurance, and don't have a lot of money. Can anyone give me some idea of what i can expect to pay for an extraction?
You : You do not have a lot of money and no dental insurance and desparately need one tooth extracted.....And your question was how much would you be expected to pay? I am going to answer the question. The numbers will vary from office to office and how complicated the extraction is....But here goes. In a general dentists office, if they have a discount plan in place for people with financial problems and no insurance, a simple extraction would run $90 and depending upon the condition of the tooth and location, can go up to $140. If the doctor feels it is too complicated for him to perform to get the entire tooth out, he should refer you to an oral surgeon and the price will definitely go up. If you are desperate and can not afford this, try to find a university with a dental school and you might have to pay less. I hope this helps and i hope you can get your tooth extracted as soon as possible so you are not in pain. ...Read more
