ANKLE PAIN: You want to go see a foot specialist such as a podiatrist or foot and ankle orthopedics because you might have a possible fracture, severe ankle sprain, cellulitis or vascular condition. A lot.: You are diabetic and have neuropathy. You are on a diuretic for water retention. I would have to know more about your medical history, but leg pain at night is usually an indication of circulatory issues. Again, many factors involved, weight, blood sugar, etc. My recommendation would be to follow up with your PC or Endocrinologist who may refer you to a Vascular Doc. ...Read more

Damaged goods.: A "couple" of months may not be enough time for your ankle to heal sufficiently enough for swelling to no longer be present. Sprains can cause soft tissue damage that in turn makes the ankle somewhat unstable. The swelling is a mechanism to deal with this. An ankle brace, heat and elevation may speed things along. To remove all doubt, have your ankle examined by a specialist. ...Read more
