One side occasional throat pain. Somewhat connected to ear. Pain only when deep inhale/exhaling, worsen when lying down. GERD?
Not typical for GERD:
Throat pain is often referred to the ears, the relationship of the pain with your respiratory effort is unclear but the unilateral nature and chronicity of your complaints makes a consultation with the otolaryngologist a wise step. Take care.

Stress can increase: Acid formation in the stomach despite the pantoprazole. Increased acid formation needs to be neutralized with medication managment. Increased acid in the stomach can cause laryngo-pharyngeal reflux followed with throat discomfort. I hope this helps. Esophag. Obstruction: If stuff is not emptying out of the bottom of the esophagus, into the stomach, doctors can call it esophageal obstruction... Until they figure out why stuff is not easily getting through to the stomach. Yes: The feeling of food in the throat is a not uncommon symptom of GERD. Since GERD tends to be a long-term illness, it is possible that you may need to be back on medication for it. If you are having actual sticking of your food as you try to swallow it, you may need an endoscopy to look at and perhaps dilate your esophagus, in addition. You should see your doctor for further advice. Good luck. ...Read more

Maybe: This is a very common complaint amongst patients with gerd, but is poorly understood. There is definately the sensation something is stuck there, but typically nothing really is. It probably has to do with abnormal sensory input form the pharynx and upper esophageal sphincter. In any case, its certainly not dangerous.
