My doc says cos I'm allergic to ondansetron that I'm also allergic to antihistamines, what can I use for gritty itchy eyes due to spring allergies?
Huh?: Ondansetron allergy is very uncommon. I am no allergist, but there is no apparent overlap between the antihistamine H1 and H2 receptor and the antiemetic HT3 receptor that I am aware of. Not without Dx.: Zofran (ondansetron) is for vomiting and Imodium is for diarrhea, and they can be taken together, BUT I would be sure you have a diagnosis that justifies their use. Zofran (ondansetron): This depends on how you define a long time and what the dose is. The maximum dose was reduced a couple of years ago because of potential cardiac side effects. Nausea is generally a symptom of something else. If you are a chemotherapy patient, zofran (ondansetron) is fine. There is a background risk of birth defects without using any drugs as well as a risk associated with severe nausea and vomiting that can decrease nutrients to the growing fetus. Whenever: To my knowledge those teo medications won't interact so you don't have to wait. Also if you are needing triptans for headache then you may benefit from taking a med every day to prevent the headache. Butterbur is an over the counter supplement that can prevent migraines.
