Starting birth contr: I was trained that you started oral contraception on the Sunday after the start of your menses or period - thus you would not tend to get your period on a weekend. Ideally you would start on the first day to assure yourself you aren't pregnant. Skip placebo pills: Every oral contraceptive has a few pills at the end of the pack that are mostly placebo. Some pill types have 4 days of placebo, some have 7. Possibly: When you are on bcps, you get bleeding whenever your hormones drop. Usually the pill has enough to prevent you from doing this when you are taking the pill, but sometimes not.
