Was on Omeprazole for the majority of 8 years. What kind of long term damage may I have caused to my body?

Hematemesis might more commonly be related to bleeding ulcer(s), esophageal tears, or esophageal varices (varicose veins in esophagus). Omeprazole side eff.: Omeprazole can change the gut ph or acid such that you may have trouble absorbing certain vitamins with long term use (b12 and folate) also there have been some studies that note that people who took Omeprazole had a higher rate of thinning out the bones (takes calcium from the bones). They are equivalent.: Both of these work equally well. However, some patients respond well to one and not the other, and sometimes trial and error is the only method to determine which medication is best for a particular patient. At least 2000 Vit D: Vitamin d should be at least 2000iu possibly 5000. Calcium, depends on your diet, what type of calcium and how much. If you are a vegetarian your requirements for calcium are different than if you aren't. Many causes: There's so many causes for fatigue. If this is really troubling you get a check up. B12 deficiency, among other causes are really easy to check.
