Hello. Can I have omega 3 and multi vitamins together in the same time without any side effects (i have glovit multi vitamins 32 with amino acid)?

Hello. Can I have omega 3 and multi vitamins together in the same time without any side effects (i have glovit multi vitamins 32 with amino acid)?

Likely yes; however: There is no harm in taking them together; however, b vitamins are commonly nauseating. This may increase the "repeat" (burping up the taste) of the omega oils. I would suggest taking the them at different times to prevent nausea. Several smaller doses make the vitamin available throughout the day. Take the oils at bedtime to minimize tasting repeat if it does occur. ...Read more

Omega 3 fish oil 1000mg. What are the benefits of that food supplement and is there any side effects for it. And do I need medical prescription.

Omega 3 fish oil 1000mg. What are the benefits of that food supplement and is there any side effects for it. And do I need medical prescription.

Fish Oil: Fish oil supplies essential omega-3 fats that our bodies cannot make on their own. They can lower triglycerides, prevent heart disease, help reduce high blood pressure, and reduce inflammation in the body. Fish oil helps ward off depression too. In general, most people need at least 1-2 grams of epa and 500mg dha per day in a fish oil preparation. No prescription is needed. ...Read more

I am taking slimming pills and omega 3. Any side effect?

I am taking slimming pills and omega 3. Any side effect?

Yes: Krill oil and fish oil are the new snake oil, both are high in omega 3 fatty acids which are extremely fragile. Omega 3 fish oils reduce triglycerides by impairing the liver's ablility to make them. However the oxidative stress caused by fish oil actually raises LDL cholesterol.
Some day we may use the phrase "this is just more fish /krill oil" or "here comes the fish/krill oil salesman". ...Read more

Other benefits seen in various studies include decreased dementia, improved blood pressure, decreased inflammation. ...Read more

Why is there contradictory studies on nearly every health topic? One study says omega 3 is good and then another says it offers no benefits. What's up

Poor research design: And poor journalism are the answers. If you look closely at many of the headline studies you will see that the dose or quality of the supplement used is not correct or that the population being studied is already largely ailing or very old. Then a journalist takes the poorly designed study and makes a headline out of it. Lesson learned: you need to see and analyze the studies. Peace & health. ...Read more

Omega 3 fish oil? What is it good for? What's its benefits?

Omega 3 fish oil? What is it good for? What's its benefits?

EPA: We all need two essential fatty acids in our diet but they have to be processed in the body to produce important metabolites that play a part in inflammation. Fish oil provides epa (eicosapentoic acid) that "dodges" the processing mechanism, thus providing a "ready made" metabolite that acts as an anti-inflammatory. This is very complex chemistry and is the simplest explanation that I can offer. ...Read more

What are the benefits from taking omega-3 fish oil tablets?

What are the benefits from taking omega-3 fish oil tablets?

Much debated: There are many claims regarding the beneficial effects of fish oils, but there are few randomized blinded clinical trials testing these observational claims. Fish oils lower triglycerides, and are indicated to do so, so as to prevent pancreatitis, however no studies support this recommendation. At low dose they may have cardiovascular benefits, but recent data is less compelling than older data. ...Read more

Why is ALA considered inferior to DHA and EPA omega 3's? Do the latter have better health benefits?

EPA & DHA important: EPA and DHA are considered more important due to many proven benefits. ALA may help protect against cardiovascular disease but its main importance is as a precursor to EPA and DHA. Many people have difficulty converting ALA to EPA/DHA so ingesting EPA/DHA appear to have more benefits. See http://chriskresser. Com/why-fish-stomps-flax-as-a-source-of-omega-3 ...Read more

A newspaper reported research that for Omega-3 benefit fish must be baked/broiled & not fried as Omega-3 is destroyed by heat. Is not bake/broil heat?

A newspaper reported research that for Omega-3 benefit fish must be baked/broiled & not fried as Omega-3 is destroyed by heat. Is not bake/broil heat?

CanYouTake The Heat?: It's the AMOUNT of heat. Unless you eat sushi, some amount of heat must be used to cook the fish. Baking, broiling or sauteing can use less heat than frying, thus less of the Omega-3 is "lost." It's even been shown that frying can completely alter the fat profile of a (small) fish and canning destroys most of it too. Don't eat just any ol' fish raw, however. You have to find "sushi grade." ...Read more

Getting varying opinions about fish oil and omega 3's. Snake oil? Or real benefit and necessity?

ESSENTIAL for health: Omega 3 ; 6 are essential fatty acids, meaning they are necessary for good health. It is interesting that you ask snake oil, as that is also a good source of omega 3's ; thus very beneficial to those who were deficient. Some get enough omega 3's from flax, hemp or other oils but some can't convert those to the epa/dha found in fish oil. For summary of research on benefits see http://bit. Ly/1cpbzsb. ...Read more

It is usefull: Increased intake of epa and dha has been shown to prevent pre-term labor and delivery, lower the risk of pre-eclampsia and may increase birth weight. Omega-3 deficiency also increases the mother’s risk for depression.
Babies born to mothers who had higher blood levels of dha scored better on the attention tests until 6 months of age, visual learning in older babies at 1 year and 18 months. ...Read more

Doc wants me to take three 300mg of krill oil daily after my omega 3 test came back. I had been taking 1 krill plus a fish oil daily. Is this unusual?

EPA ; DHA: Fish oil and krill oil have 2 major components: epa and dha. Generally people need at least 1-2 grams of epa, and at least 500 mg dha daily. The preparations you were using may not have delivered this much of each component in the capsules you were taking, so you needed more. Please know that if you eat wild alaskan salmon, sardines, etc at least twice each week, you may not need supplements. ...Read more
