Probably but...: Olive leaf extract appears to be a broad-spectrum anti-microbial, effective against a wide variety of viruses, bacteria & fungi in the lab. I haven't found any published clinical studies on it for herpes but many patients claim it helps. While more research is needed it's safe to try. Lysine for herpes: It's possible lysine supplements may have some effect on reducing herpes outbreaks, although the FDA has nothing to say about that. The thought is lysine blocks a pathway the virus needs to replicate. Since it is an essential amino acid (the body needs it) I don't expect any real side effects... Other than cost!
