Old Stomach Scar Has Black Crusy Sore
I had surgery for an abdominal hernia a month ago. The area below the scar has remained numb and sore. The internal scar is hard. Is this normal?
Normal: After such an operation, it is not unusual to feel a firm (hard) ridge under the scar. This represents healing of the tissue beneath the skin and can present as you describe. This can take several months to resolve. Check with your surgeon as he would have the specific details of your surgery. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

No waxing or shaving: Tretinoin (retin-a) cream can help decrease skin plugging or hyperkaratosis. Hi I am 29yrs old I have pain around my navel and stomach I did exercise, do you it could be sore? I don't feel nausea
You may have a small: Hernia. I wouldn't worry too much if it passes and is non tender to touch. If there isa hernia and bowel pops through and gets strangulated u get sick and that's a problem. It sounds ok, if we all went in for soreness there would be no one around to work and healthcare would go through the roof. Low probability of an issue. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Any ideas why I get sore easily? Mainly on back, abdomen, groin, butt and shoulders. I play soccer 2-3 days in a week 19 yrs old/male.
Might need a break: Great that you're getting this kind of exercise, but wonder if the soreness could be from the soccer. Maybe a little conditioning in between soccer could help. There are also inflammatory conditions of the muscles that could be causing this discomfort. Talk to your doctor and let him know the symptoms, to see if any workup is in order. ...Read more

If child looks sick: ...see a physician soon. If you treat the fever with ibuprofen or acetaminophen (there are online calculations to check the right dose for weight), and your child looks better, then it is usually OK to wait a few days.
