Yes: A stainless steel crown is a way to protect a tooth and preserve a space. Baby teeth don't hold large fillings well, so think of a stainless steel crown as a large filling. When baby teeth are lost too early, then the permenant teeth dont have a natural guide into their proper position. The stainless steel crown can save thousands of dollars on orthodontics later. ...Read more

Was my lunch ok for weight loss or did i screw up?I'm 18 male 5'9 170. One piece whole grain bread, slice onion, slice tomato, 1 avacodo, handful almonds
OK: One meal isn't going to make or break your program- the best way to lose weight is permanent changes in how you eat. Slow ; steady is the way to go. Hard to evaluate your lunch without knowing the rest of your diet but it looks ok. Eat mostly fruits, veggies, nuts ; seeds ; you'll lose weight. I'd have much more tomato/onion that a slice. Whole grains ok in moderation. See http://bit.Ly/1dhw9ht. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My daughter has eczema, what are good soaps/shampoos to use? She's 4 yrs old. Is aveeno (oatmeal) great?

Frosted mini wheats has 90% rdi iron. Can my 4yr old eat a serving a day instead of taking supplements (hard to disguise taste)? seems too easy.
But so much sugar: Cereals are fortified with many nutrients that make them seem almost too good to be true...And perhaps they are. Sugary cereals like the frosted ones are packed with sugars, leading to short-term energy, but little lasting energy or nutritional value. If your doctor says your child needs extra iron for some reason, talk to them about how much is enough and see if a different supplement will work. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Yes - and no: From an allergy standpoint, it's ok to give peanut containing things after a year of age. If you are spreading it very thin on a cracker, etc, and are watching carefully as they eat small bites, you should be ok. ...Read more

Hello : Hello mother of a 17 year old. I find that it is sometimes hard for me to get my children to eat the foods that i prepare. I commend you that you make your son hot breakfasts in the morning- a lot of kids just get a box of cereal handed to them with milk. The one thing i didn't see listed was vegetables. The fiber, vitamins and enzymes from fresh vegetables is very important. The eggs and ham can contribute to cholesterol. I recommend that you look up the food pyramid on line (it has changed a lot in the last decade). Use this to help pla out balanced and nutritious food. Take care. ...Read more
