Depo-provera: "Progesterone only" contraception has an unpredictable effect on ovulation, at times inhibiting it from being "regular". This produces a similarly "unpredictable" effect on the lining of the uterus, which results in irregular shedding of the lining, causing varying degrees of "cramping/spotting". ...Read more

No period 2 months, negative pregnacy tests, brown spotting for 1day, lower back pain, itchy breasts, Depo-Provera shot 6months 2"shotstotal" can I be prego?

Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. If negative see your doctor for irregular periods. ...Read more

What can be causing lower back pain and cramping...with possible spotting?

What can be causing lower back pain and cramping...with possible spotting?

A couple of things: Well, if you were to tell me you just recently missed your period & were sexually active then, I might have you do a home pregnancy test at your next missed period. If you were to say that you also had burning on urination with urgency & frequency with the back pain then, I might suggest you get a urine sample over to the lab to test for infection. See doctor is good advice as well for symptoms. ...Read more

I've been having lower back pain and cramping for the past couple of days., and I'm getting what looks to be the start of my period. What could it be?

Your period, likely: You describe some common premenstrual symptoms, cramping and (some people) lower back pain. It should resolve once menstruation is in full swing...
However, if the back pain worsens and is associated with urinary symptoms, might think about uti. Also, must rule out pregnancy (assuming any vaginal bleeding is not a normal menstrual cycle).
Bottom line: if not improved in a week, see ur dr. ...Read more

After the 3day bleed after my period 9days before. Now im getting lower back pain and cramping? What could this mean

LBP postmenstrual: Hello Sean747
As long as there are no urinary symptoms (frequency, burning) and as long as you are not re-bleeding or not pregnant, then this pain is likely to be due to pelvic congestion, ie due to increased blood to the uterus post menses and this can be completely normal. Advil (ibuprofen) works well for this. Thanks ...Read more

On the bc pill, Got my period when I was supposed to, two days after I spotted, have had headaches, lower back pain and cramping since.

Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time) is very common on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time. If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the pill is not working. ...Read more

2 weeks after my period I started been experiencing 2 days of light spotting followed by 2 days of heavy spotting with clots ranging from dime to quarter size as well as lower back pain and cramping should I be concerned that it may be miscarrying or can

Dysfunctional clots: Although if your "period" was on time, and normal as usual, it is unusual for clots to occur two weeks after a cycle at age 28. Irregular spotting and clots with cramping can indicate an ectopic pregnancy, and your "period" might just have been bleeding and not a "real period". Get a serum HCG test, and if negative, see your healthcare provider for an exam and ultrasound. ...Read more

Is it normal to get cramps and lower back pain while having a tampon in?

Is it normal to get cramps and lower back pain while having a tampon in?

Not due to the tampo: You should probably remove the tampon. They don't usually cause cramping and back pain, but it could possibly be a sign of the rare infection (toxic shock syndrome). A high fever should prompt an urgent doctor visit. It may be that the menstrual period is the more likely cause of the cramping and back pain. ...Read more
