Try the following: You can apply vaseline on a qtip to the inside of the nose a couple of time a day. If that does not work, try ponaris (its available online if you can't find over the counter) it is pretty potent and works well when other ointments dont work. Not proven safe: Its active ingredient is asian cobra venom, which has been shown to provide pain relief when applied topically. The problem is (as in many other topicals) the medication does work by direct absorption into target tissues. It actually absorbs through the skin into the vascular system, and exhibits its effects systemically. Extensive long-term trials need to be conducted before we know about safety. ...Read more

Jellyfish likely: Your description sounds like a jellyfish sting. If so, first, take sticky tape to the red area - there may be cysts left that can still fire venom. Yes: It's the law that life jackets that fit be present on board for each person on each vessel that leaves the dock or harbor. Yes, i always wear my jacket in rough seas or when i sail alone and I have 40 years of experience. If someone says that you don't need one, remind them that boating is supposed to be fun and that wearing a life vest enhances your fun. Being more relaxed is what it is all about. ...Read more
