A ceftriaxone injection was given to me for kidney inflation. The problem is that it gave me a bruise where they inject the antibiotic. What do I do?

Tincture of time: Bruising is a common side effect of a needle puncture. It does not imply any need for a change in the treatment for your kidney infection. Bruising can occur from any trauma, such as bumping your arm. If you can apply pressure and ice immediately, you can minimize the size of the bruise. If this is not done immediately, the bruising expands and will be absorbed over 5-7 days or longer. ...Read more

Reddish lump on my butt cause of injecting a fluid, which got injected in the Fat. Would highly appreciate if you could advice antibiotics.

Have it evaluated!: It's not that simple. The "red bump" can be an infection, but it may require an incision and drainage. Moreover, it can also be an allergic reaction (abx would not help in this case). ...Read more

Alcohol must be limited to an occcasional drink with either oral or injected mtx. Enjoy a coctail or nice glass of wine with saturday night dinner but don't drink on a daily basis. ...Read more

What is a good antibiotic for cellulitis following iv?

What is a good antibiotic for cellulitis following iv?

Sensitivites: Hopefully, if you were sick enough to need IV antibiotics, cultures were done to see which specific bacteria caused your cellulitis. If so, then the lab also tests to see which drugs the bacteria is "sensitive" to. These are the best ones to use. These can vary depending on the type of bacteria and where the infection is, if you caught it in hospital or at home, etc. As always, finish all the med! ...Read more
