Ultrasound is performed if needed or scheduled at 12-14 wks to check nuchal thickness. Rarely is a pelvic exam done on first visit unless you have symptoms of infection or miscarriage. Hi my gestational age is 7 wks and my obstetric scan is over the result is embryonic cardiac activity present but IRREGULARITY NOTED WITH BRADYCARDIA ?

Too early to worry: At such an early gestational age, it is difficult to assess the significance of heart rate and its predictive value as to the outcome of this pregnancy. Why isn't Epi-No currently recommended in the US(aside from FDAapproval)? Would you recommend it to your obstetrical patients?

Why isn't Epi-No currently recommended in the US(aside from FDAapproval)? Would you recommend it to your obstetrical patients?

Need Data...: Epi-No is a new device that is designed to help a women train her pelvis for child-birth. It isn't part of standard Ob care anywhere and thus isn't recommended in the USA. Its very expensive to get FDA approval for a new device in the US. Small companies frequently can't afford to do it. I wouldn't recommend it without clear data and experience indicating a dramatic benefit. Best wishes! ...Read more
