Obesity And Skin Mold
Lose excess skin: Body contouring surgery can remove the excess skin after weight loss. Common procedures are tummy tuck, arm lift, thigh lift, breast lift +/- augmentation, face & necklift, body lift, buttock lift. The procedures needed, and combination or sequence of procedures, varies in each patient. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon, and start with addressing what bothers you most. ...Read more

Very carefully...: Obesity poses significant problems and risks for both mother and infant. After a cesarean (which is very likely with increasing maternal obesity), the task of closing the abdominal incision is tall and best left to experienced surgeons. En-mass closure of the abdominal wall and reinforced extra layer of closure for the subcutaneous tissues are necessary in most such cases. ...Read more

I'm obese and I have excessive pigmentation on my underarms and groin. How do I get my skin back to normal? I have it since I was a teenager. Thanks!
Acanthosis nigricans: Acanthosis nigricans is a brown to black, poorly defined, velvety hyperpigmentation of the skin. Common affected areas include the neck, underarms, and groin. This is usually seen in people under age 40 with obesity as well as conditions such as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, acromegaly, polycystic ovary disease, insulin-resistant diabetes, or cushing's disease. Hi I'm 26 year old morbidly obese. I have this dark hyperpigmented lesions in my pubes, and darkening skin, bad smell, any products to help me with that?
Lets first try simpl: Over weight conditions can cause skin problems from excessive sweating and difficulty in keeping the areas under the Folds clean. So let us first try a simple solution. Clean your body especially the areas between the skin folds with a gentle soap twice daily. Make sure you dry the skin with a soft towel and use a hair dryer (with cool setting) so that all moisture is gone. Then use talcum powder. ...Read more
I'm obese lady with very fat tummy now I start loose weight by doing bicycle now please tell me where does skin of my tummy will go do I need tumytuck?
Great plan: Losing weight by exercising and eating wholesome unprocessed food (preferably 6 small meals a day) will allow you to change fat into energy and muscle. If you do some sit down exercises to strengthen your abdominal muscles you will lose weight slowly and steadily and the skin will shrink down. No need for tummy tuck. ...Read more
Can an obese person have a successful butt lift? I recently lost over 120 pounds, and I am considering having a butt lift procedure to tighten up the loose skin around my buttocks. I still have about 80 pounds to lose to reach my goal weight. Can I have t
Yes, but...: No pun intended. It may make more sense to complete your weight loss prior to your buttocks lift, especially if weight will be lost from the buttocks. It would be disappointing to get a nice result from a buttocks lift, and then have loose sagging skin from further weight loss. I cannot make specific recommendations without seeing you. Consider a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. ...Read more
I'm 5'7 and weigh 209 lbs, and I'm 18. I have stretch marks on my belly, thighs, and back. Will I have loose skin if I lose weight? Am I obese?
Obese: in fold of stomach overhang the skin is fragile. Right now it is bleeding. What at this moment, what can I do? Is liposecution ever paid by insurance to remove the excess skin due to bleeding, etc.
See your doctor: When skin is resected it is not liposuction. You may need a tummy tuck or if morbidly obese you may need the apron removed. See your doctor for a referral that is on your insurance list just in case there is a medical reason for the insurance to pay. The way the skin gets frail is usually due to lack of air and increased moisture which causes a yeast infection and that will need to be treated. ...Read more
Why I have bilateral dark skin papulomacular hyperpigment ED lesion on tibia or shin with abdominal obesity? Is it subclinical hypotyrodism?
Need more info: I'd like to know how long the lesions have been on your shins. I'd prefer to see a picture and take a history. One possibility is a panniculitis or maybe even erythema nodosum, which may be associated with a streptococcal pharyngitis. It may be idiopathic, though. In less developed parts of the world, sometimes this skin finding can be associated with primary tuberculosis. ...Read more

Given the multiple disorders, it would be prudent to see a doctor to exclude cellulitis. As you probably know, losing weight would do lot of good, not easy, but essential. Are you taking your medications for thyroid and hypertension, take the meds regularly.

Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

I get Jock's itch, facial and neck rashes and itch and dry skin the next day I consume alcohol. What could be the problem? I am 46 years old, on obese side, drink alcohol, say weekly...sugar and cholestrol border line with poor eating, not on medication
Easy to explain: It makes you sweat more and move less while sleeping. I'm glad you're eager to make a change. You're still young and probably vigorous. Head down to the local gym or sports center, let others see that you're working hard on your body, and they'll accept you as a friend and support you in your body transformation. A lot more is at stake than just the skin in your groin and neck. Best wishes. ...Read more

College had ice machine and had mold on it where ice comes out ice taste funny now top of head hurts 2 days now?
Harmless: Common molds in the environment and on foods are generally harmless. If the ice "tastes funny" it is probably due to the water itself, the pipes it runs through, etc, not mold around the dispenser. It is unlikely this has anything to do with your head pain. Still, you might tell the ice machine manager and ask that it be cleaned thoroughly. See your doctor if sympotms remain bothersome. ...Read more

How do you remove mold spores from your skin? In normal blood test what if any antibody would be high or low to tell maybe that you have been exposed
Depends: The finding of an antibody to mold per se does not a disease make. There are also different types of antibodies to molds with different disease implications. For allergic diseases, IgE antibody is what one looks for. For others, IgG may be more meaningful. However either may simply indicate exposure in the absence of any illness. ...Read more
