Obese Teenager Has Diarrhea Everyday
Hi, I'm a 22 yr old female - moderately healthy and not overweight. I have recently been suffering from abdominal pain after eating, excessive bloatin?
This sounds like a: food intolerance, possibly lactose. I would recommend that you keep a written log of what you are eating and see if the pain/bloating is different with different foods. You can also try eliminating a type of food, such as dairy, and see if that helps. Also, please discuss this with your doctor. ...Read more

My eleven year old granddaughter has had significant weight gain (40 to 50 lbs) in the last year. She eats a healthy diet and does not overeat. ?
What is BMI: More important than just her weight is her bmi, which also takes into account her sex and height based on her age. Quite honestly, a weight of 50# does not seem ecessive to me, but i would have to know her height as well. She is likely starting her pubertal growth spurt, and the weight gain may be totally appropriate. There are several good sites online to check bmi's for kids - check that first! ...Read more

Hello, a friend of mine, male, 50 years old, 182cm tall has a weight of 49 kg. How bad is it? He doesn't eat regulary and has a lack of appetite.
14 yr old doesn't eat breakfast, claims that eats lunch and hardly eats dinner. Seems really upset.
My 20 yr old daughter has high cholesterol 270. Eats healthy, skinny, extremely active. I know heredity plays a part. What to do?
Medication: While i'm a minimalist with respect to medications we have to be realistic. In a person who has few or none of the typical environmental risk factors (obesity, sedentary, poor diet etc) we have to assume a strong genetic propensity for dyslipidemia. In these cases, based on what we know now, this should be treated with medication to help avoid cardiovascular risks over time. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My 19 year old daugter has an upset stomach and she vomits once in a while she is 120lbs. 5'8'' she eats fairly healthy. She is a college student, and does not drink , she smokes pot. Other than upset stomach she is very healthy.
Stomach pain: The symptom could be from many things . She may not be telling you something. Of course in young women pregnancy always has to be thought of. Other than that it could be anything from emotional distress to an ulcer. For sure periodic vomiting is not a normal thing . People tend to ignore a lot of problems thinking that they will go away. Good that you're asking about it. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have slightly high cholesterol female 51 yrs old. I regularly exercise eat fairly healthy. Simvastatins caused aches pains & welchor no good please ad?
Eat less animal fat: For slightly high cholesterol, you can change your diet by decreasing your carbs and dairy intake since that seems to be a bigger source of animal fat for women than eating beef/pork and can change your ldl. Also, adding exercise, fiber through more plants, red yeast rice found in canada since they still have the statin like part, and cholestoff found at drug stores. Also use coq10 before statin. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm a 20 year old female. I'm an otherwise healthy vegan, sugar and gluten free. But suddenly I have low grade fever, upset stomach and no appetite ??
Probable virus: My best guess is that you have gotten a viral infection. A virus like this will likely only last a few days at most. If not hungry it is OK to not eat for a couple days but stay well-hydrated. Consider chopping some carrots, potatoes, greens & garlic and simmering for at least 20 min. to make a mineral-rich vegetable broth to drink. ...Read more

Hello! I am a 44year old women who has always been irregular. I have 22-79 days between periods. Is it dangerous to eat iron supplements when i'm late?
Not likely: If you were late due to pregnancy, you would be put on a prenatal vitamin which is iron supplemented. If you mean high-dose iron (325 mg ferrous sulfate equivalent), then that may be even more constipating and your OB may recommend lower dose during pregnancy. If not iron-deficient, may only need low-dose (multivit+iron) level to help w/menstrual bleeding, if at all. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
