How tall should my daughter get if her mom is 5'5" and her dad is 6'?

How tall should my daughter get if her mom is 5'5" and her dad is 6'?

About 5'6": In a perfect world, she would be 5'6". Using the midparental height calculation, this is the number that I come up with. Of course, nutrition, exercise level, and age at menarche all influence a girl's final adult height! The earlier that menses occurs, bone growth slows down!

I'm a first time mom. My daughter is three months. She just recently stopped napping and is not sleepijng good at all at night. Is this normal?

Babies need naps. ..: And so do their parents need them to. There certainly are babies who seem not to want to nap, but babies need about 3 hours of napping a day up to age 9-12 months. It is especially problematic if she doesn't sleep well at night either. There may not be an actual sleep disorder (almost any sleep pattern falls within "normal" for a baby) but discuss with your baby's doctor for evaluation and advice.

My baby daddy mon has a daughter that has Down syndrome but is only from his mom not dad is there a change my baby going to have Down syndrome too?

My baby daddy mon has a daughter that has Down syndrome but is only from his mom not dad is there a change my baby going to have Down syndrome too?

Unlikely: With the most common chromosomal abnormality causing DS, you have no increased risk. In a much less common form (unbalanced translocation), your baby's father has a chance of carrying it. I recommend finding out what the chromosomal abnormality was, and discuss it with your OB or a genetics specialist.

Could this mood swinging in my teen daughter and her mom both be hormonal?

Could this mood swinging in my teen daughter and her mom both be hormonal?

Yes: When two or more women live together they tend to have pms (including mood swings, cravings and bloating) at the same time. However, if the women in your life have depressive symptoms for more than 3 weeks they should see their physician to make sure they are not clinically depressed.

Should I let my daughter get serious about a young man who has single older mom and donor father?

Should I let my daughter get serious about a young man who has single older mom and donor father?

Nature Nurture: In my opinion it is not who donates the egg or the sperm but who raises the child. If the issue is genetics the mother should be able to get a history on the donor father.

If a mom has schizophrenia, how much percentage chance does her normal daughter have, of getting a schizophrenic child?

If a mom has schizophrenia, how much percentage chance does her normal daughter have, of getting a schizophrenic child?

Pretty good data: Check out this summary site: http://www.Schizophrenia.Com/research/hereditygen. Htm available data suggest about a 5% risk, compared to 1% in the general population. That's a 5-fold increase in risk, but it's still pretty low, overall.

Daughter of mom disagrees with MD's advice for mom to get 2nd biopsy opinion. Mom wants it. How to deal with such a loud and unfair daughter?

Daughter of mom disagrees with MD's advice for mom to get 2nd biopsy opinion. Mom wants it. How to deal with such a loud and unfair daughter?

Second Opinion: Ignore her. As long as Mom is within her right mind, she has a right to make her own medical decisions. A second opinion on a biopsy is not something to trifle with.

My mom gave my daughter who's 3wks old 1/2 ounce of 2% milk. Know she's been really fussy all day. What are the affects of giving her 2% milk?

My mom gave my daughter who's 3wks old 1/2 ounce of 2% milk. Know she's been really fussy all day. What are the affects of giving her 2% milk?

GI distress: She might have a hard time digesting the cow's milk and her gut might get inflammed. This should be a short term issue if you do not continue to give her cow's milk. She might be fussy, have cramping and diarrhea for about a day.

14 year old daughter caught masterbating with moms sex toy and what to do dad gets mad says she is to young to do this?

14 year old daughter caught masterbating with moms sex toy and what to do dad gets mad says she is to young to do this?

Teenagers: Masturbation is a very normal and healthy aspect of puberty and adolescent development. Dad probably needs to do some reading to educate himself on normal teenage sexual maturation. Mom needs to hide her sex toys better so that this can remain a private experience for both parties

Can my 13 year old step daughter rightfully refuse the hpv shot? She's had the frst one but her mom and her don't want the rest

Can my 13 year old step daughter rightfully refuse the hpv shot? She's had the frst one but her mom and her don't want the rest

Sometimes it happens: Any benefit from the first shot will likely fade over the next year or so. Some folks simply will not accept that they could be exposed, or would get cancer if they did."Bad stuff happens to other folks, not me". If she wises up in the future it is available and will be of benefit.

I had a baby at 16 can my mom choose to not let the father of my baby not see his daughter? I'm against her doing this. It's stressing me out.

I had a baby at 16 can my mom choose to not let the father of my baby not see his daughter? I'm against her doing this. It's stressing me out.

No & Yes: You are an emancipated minor having a child of your own. This means legally you make decisions about your child, including who can and can't see her. However, if you are still living at home and she is supporting you, the two of you will have to work out your differences about the involvement of the father. It is her house and her rules. Your other option is move out, but then you lose her help.

Low odds: While the odds are very low, they're not zero, and its unpredictable. Check out the American Cancer Society website. They have some good information about this. Hope this helps!
