Obese Mature Mom And Daughter
About 5'6": In a perfect world, she would be 5'6". Using the midparental height calculation, this is the number that I come up with. I'm a first time mom. My daughter is three months. She just recently stopped napping and is not sleepijng good at all at night. Is this normal?
Babies need naps. ..: And so do their parents need them to. There certainly are babies who seem not to want to nap, but babies need about 3 hours of napping a day up to age 9-12 months. It is especially problematic if she doesn't sleep well at night either. There may not be an actual sleep disorder (almost any sleep pattern falls within "normal" for a baby) but discuss with your baby's doctor for evaluation and advice. ...Read more

Unlikely: With the most common chromosomal abnormality causing DS, you have no increased risk. In a much less common form (unbalanced translocation), your baby's father has a chance of carrying it. I recommend finding out what the chromosomal abnormality was, and discuss it with your OB or a genetics specialist. ...Read more

Sometimes it happens: Any benefit from the first shot will likely fade over the next year or so. No & Yes: You are an emancipated minor having a child of your own. This means legally you make decisions about your child, including who can and can't see her. However, if you are still living at home and she is supporting you, the two of you will have to work out your differences about the involvement of the father. It is her house and her rules. Before we go any further, being a skinny person does not mean that you have an eating disorder. Some skinny people have eating disorders and some skinny people don’t. Genetics can have an impact. Here is some information that comes from the dsm (diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders).
Here are some of the symptoms of anorexia nervosa. Refusal to maintain body weight at or above a minimally normal weight for age and height (maintaining a body weight less than 85% of the expected weight). An intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat, even though the person is underweight. Self-perception that is grossly distorted, excessive emphasis on body weight in self-assessment, and weight loss that is either minimized or not acknowledged completely. Missing three consecutive periods or failing to have a period without being treated with hormones. (this applies to women. It is likely not to apply to her since you referred to her as a child). There is a binge eating/ purging type (the individual regularly engages in binge eating or purging behavior which involves self-induced vomiting or the misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or enemas during the current episode of anorexia.) there is also a restricting type (the individual severely restricts food intake but does not regularly engage in the behaviors seen in the binge-eating type.)
here are some criteria for bulimia nervosa. Recurrent episodes of binge eating. An episode of binge eating is characterized by both of the following: eating, in a discrete period of time (e.g., within any two hour period), an amount of food that is definitely larger than most people would eat during a similar period of time and under similar circumstances. A sense of lack of control over eating during the episode (e.g., a feeling that one cannot stop eating or control what or how much one is eating). Recurrent inappropriate compensatory behavior in order to prevent weight gain, such as self-induced vomiting; misuse of laxatives, diuretics, enemas, or other medications; fasting; or excessive exercise. The binge eating and inappropriate compensatory behaviors both occur, on average, at least twice a week for 3 months. Self-evaluation is unduly influenced by body shape and weight. The disturbance does not occur exclusively during episodes of anorexia nervosa. There is a purging type: during the current episode of bulimia nervosa, the person has regularly engaged in self-induced vomiting or the misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or enemas. There is also a nonpurging type: during the current episode of bulimia nervosa, the person has used other inappropriate compensatory behaviors, such as fasting or excessive exercise, but has not regularly engaged in self-induced vomiting or the misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or enemas.
In up to 60% of cases, patients with bulimia nervosa report prior histories of anorexia nervosa.
Although criteria for these disorders are listed in the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders; these diagnoses should be made by a trained professional. ...Read more
