How long is clonazepam in your system? I took a 0.25 mg dose for anxiety 24 hrs ago. Today, I have severe allergies and would like nyquil to sleep.
Taking meds together: I assume your question is if it is ok for you to take both clonazepam and benadryl (diphenhydramine) together since both of them make you drowsy. Clonazepam can be inside your system very long since it has a long half life, like a week to 10 days. However its action duration lasts for about 6-12 hours only. How much drowsiness you have when you take both medications depending on your tolerance. In general, it's ok. ...Read more
I take low dose of Nyquil occasionally as a sleep aid and its quite effective. A side effect for me is relief from Anxiety symptoms the next day. Why?
Bad Gastritis has re triggered horrible insomnia- was using weed, occasional NyQuil for the last year, now I stopped them and trying to heal stomach. Cannot sleep, severe anxiety. Start weed again?
Sleep naturally: While medications are helpful for insomnia, they're best if used for the short term. What's best is to learn to sleep like a normal child again. Children tend to focus on play, curiosity, enjoying the moment. They don't tend to think much about sleep. Sleep just happens on its own usually. Yes: Benzodiazepines such as klonopin, ativan, valium, and xanax (alprazolam) can all cause sedation anytime they are used. Dose adjustments and monitoring are very important. When used long-term and consistently, they can produce physical habituation and dependence. This is one reason ssri and other less habit-forming medications are safer (plus effective) when anxiety is chronic. ...Read more

My anti anxiety medication (s) are causing me to have mental and physical confusion. What should. I do?
Discuss with doc: If you are certain that your anxiety medication is the culprit, you have to stop it. If the anxiety medication your are speaking of is a benzodiazepine (clonazepam, alprazolam, lorazepam, etc.), depending on dose, you may have to avoid abruptly stopping the med. Abruptly stopping these meds can be dangerous. Therefore, I would suggest discussing this problem asap with your physician. ...Read more

Docs are refusing anti-anxiety meds because of a previous drug history... How can I get them understand I need meds?
Let me be frank. The best treatment is not the commonly used 'anxiety' meds. These do not treat, or prevent or cure anxiety. They are significantly addicting.
But, there are medications that work to prevent any anxiety that are not addicting and are very safe to take. They just take a few doses to start working.
Anyone with the disease of addiction should be happy that your docs care about you. ...Read more
