The nutritional quality of foods is deteriorating. In my opinion it is impossible to get all hundreds of essential nutrients that our body needs from foods alone. So taking several high quality nutrients (price matters!) daily is nutritional support.

Healthy diet & supps: I am not sure what you are asking. The foundation of nutritional support is a healthy diet. No one diet is best for everyone but a diet emphasizing a variety of organic fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds & possibly organic dairy/eggs/meats in moderation is a good foundation (though it can be argued that a vegetarian or vegan diet might be healthiest for many). If a delirious pt is suitable for IV fluid would he normally also be suitable for IV nutritional support? Obviously delirious pts can pull out tubes.
Recommend Caution:: Suitable does not equate with either appropriate or effective. IV fluids easily/commonly overdone resulting in edema, sometimes deadly water overload. No easy answer: There is considerable overlap in the terms IV nutrition and IV fluid. Delirious patients can sometimes be a danger to themselves and others. If a patient is so confused he/she is pulling out IV lines then the IV should be removed or the delirium should be treated. ...Read more

Zinc & Biotin. Sun!: Both have been shown to be depleted by the rapid dermal/epidermal transit in pts with psoriasis. More zinc is utilized in the skin than any other organ. Biotin helps with scaliness and desquamation. I recommend 100mg of zinc gluconate and 7500mcg of biotin per day.
