I weigh 264 lbs and I wanna go on a juice diet so how much juice should I drink a day I tried eating nutritional food like a lot of fiber, small meals but it seem not to work.

There: There is not a simple answer to this question. A healthy juicing program is not about drinking a lot of juices from the can instead of eating food. There are many different juicing plans with goals that may vary from detoxifying the body naturally, losing weight to assisting with a large variety of health conditions. Juicing is also not a permanent approach when it is used as the sole source of calories. It is time limited (unless you are just using juicing to add healthy, fresh juices to your normal diet).
Juicing can have extraordinary health benefits - when done correctly. Before starting any juicing plan, it is important that you discuss it with your doctor, to ensure that it will not be problematic for you. For instance if a diabetic person drank lots of fruit juice, they might have serious problems with their blood sugar.
Juicing requires preparation. First, you will need a juicer. There a number of types of juicers, most often you will see juice extractors being used. (they extract the juice from the pulp). A regular blender will not replace a juicer (even though there are some juicers that work through pulverizing).
There are many juicing recipes depending on the purpose you are juicing for. Juicing includes fruits and vegetables (emphasis on the word vegetables). It is best to juice with organic produce, as residual pesticides can be harmful to your health. The produce needs to be washed and chopped before you juice it. You need to be knowledgable about produce because not all parts of all plants are safe to eat (i.e., rhubarb leaves/ apricot pits).
In order to get the most important benefits from juicing (enzymes); you will need fresh produce, which has not been cooked or frozen. You may need protein supplementation or supplementation with specific vitamins or minerals depending on your juicing plan.
I am sure that you have figured out from what I have already said, that a juicing plan for weight loss is more complex than finding out how much juice to drink per day. I recommend that you do not engage in a juice fast or a juice weight loss regiment until it has been planned out. Many of the major medical centers, now have alternative/ complementary medicine clinics with providers who may have expertise in juicing. Juicing can be remarkably beneficial but if this doesn't sound like something you are interested in, you might consider having your doctor refer you to a nutritionist. Good luck. ...Read more

Is just 1 fiber one bar a day healthy? I like the peanut butter one that has 9 grams of fiber. I eat that with banana and green apple

Neither good nor bad: A Fiber One bar is by itself neutral. It is not good enough to be called "healthy" (it is a highly processed food material), yet it is not bad enough to call "unhealthy". Therefore, whether a Fiber One bar is healthy or not will depend on what the person eats during the course of the entire day. Healthiness of one item is relative in this case, and must be compared to the other items of the day. ...Read more

Is it weird that I eat raisin brand or fiber bars everynight in order to go poo in the morning? I cant go without it and im only 19. Is this bad?

Fiber is good 4 you: Fiber (water soluble & water insoluble) provides health benefits. Fiber accelerates how quickly food transits through the gut. Fiber adds bulk to stool & improves bowel regularity. Fiber can be used as an adjunct to weight loss by filling you up without excess calories, & in so doing restricting fat intake. Consider that your diet throughout the day may be too low in fiber otherwise. ...Read more

Many protein bars, etc add FOS (Fructo-oligosaccharides). Is it used for adding fiber in their product? Do they provide same benefit as fiber from foods?

No way; all sugars:: Fructose=a specific sugar (very unhealthy when concentrated) & saccharides=chains of sugar. Oligo means short (i.e. easy to digest quickly into simple sugars which are rapidly absorbed; also rapidly converted by liver into triglyceride fats for storage if not physically very active when consuming). Study: http://goo. Gl/uDGIwD for understanding. FOS is added for sweet-tooth/low$/sales, NOT health! ...Read more

I been having gas from fiber bars, green apples and bananas and whole grain bread. Will the gas eventually go away if I keep on diet and toughen it?

Don't think so: People who eat lots of fiber tend to have lots of gas, as the undigested fiber is a picnic for billions of bowel bacteria. There are reportedly more billions of bacteria inside our bowels than the number of cells we have making up our own bodies. The bacteria will likely keep eating and keep making gas, as long as the "food" keeps coming down the pipe. One can try weaning down the fiber. ...Read more

Sharp stomach and side pains when I eat lots of fiber, e.g. fiber 1 bars. Try not to eat as much but get constipated if I don't. Jw what the cause is?

Pain and Fiber Use: While it is difficult to determine a clear connection, I would review how much water you consume every day. If you water intake is below 8, 8oz glasses per day, this may lend to having constipation and stomach pain when consuming large amounts of fiber in your diet. ...Read more

Haven't had a bowel movement in 9 days. What do I do? Have tried laxatives as well as fiber bars, nothing is working.

It: It is crucial you seek medical attention. The constipation can be due to a bowel obstruction, which is best described by a small or large blockage in the intestines. Continued obstruction can cause a perforation of the bowels - where the fecal matter punctures the intestines. This can be life threatening. I recommend going to an urgent care or emergency room. If the constipation can not be relieved with enemas or other treatments, further tests, such as abdominal xray or ultrasounds studies will need to be performed. Get help. ...Read more

More miralax (polyethylene glycol): Talk to your doctor, but if she is still constipated on MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) she may need a higher dose of miralax (polyethylene glycol). If she is eating fiber bars make sure she is drinking plenty of water. She should also sit on the toilet for at least 15 minutes after each meal. Get her a foot stool so it is more comfortable to sit on the toilet that long. If all that doesn't help, she should see a pediatric GI doctor. ...Read more

Why is it whenever I have very little fiber in one day, it helps with my ibs, but isn't that unhealthy?

On the contrary: Fiber is considered healthy. Average adult should consume about 20-30 gms fiber each day. It helps regulate the bms, makes it easier to go and helps against diverticulosis too. Constipation and diarrhea, commonly associated with ibs, both reapond well to fiber. I recommend taking it on a regular basis. ...Read more
