Nutrition Information On The Chipotle Burrito Bowl
Eating only 2 wholemeal bread, 1 small pack of jacob's, 3 ordinary biscuit & 4 digestive biscuit for whole day. is it healthy? my friend is on diet.
NOT healthy at all!: I have no idea what jacob's is but everything else your eating is bread/ starches. The healthiest diet (for both weight loss and good health) is to eat mostly vegetables & fruits with healthy protein and to minimize starch. You don't seem to be eating any veggies/fruit & eating mostly starch, the opposite of a healthy diet! My favorite diet is Dr. Fuhrman's Nutritarian- see http://bit.ly/1dHW9hT ...Read more
2 g a day: You dont want to exceed 2 g a day total daily intake of salt. If youre eating a product, see how much salt per serving and how many servings youre having. Take into account what you already had that had salt and what you may have latter that will contain salt. ...Read more

Is brown rice pasta healthy on wheat belly diet? I eat it in small portions, will it be okay on the wheat belly diet?
Is it healthy to eat soaked, uncooked steel cut oats? I'm getting mixed messages about the health benefits and difficulties of digesting whole grains.
It's ok: Uncooked soaked oats, like in muesli, are ok. Cooking breaks down cell walls, turns it into porridge, released mucilages and soluble fiber; makes it easier re: digestion, but not likely an issue with normal GI tract. Arguably some of the undigested carbs might increase gas (fermented by bowel bacteria). ...Read more
What are your opinions on raising a child on a meatless diet with plenty of plants, grains, nuts, and legumes? Healthy? Not healthy?
Depends: Families who follow a vegetarian lifestyle through multiple generations have and do learn to provide a proper balance of nutrients to sustain normal growth and development. Kids are at risk if a parent decides to adopt this lifestyle without any training, as many nutrients found in meats may be deficient and result in specific problems like anemia and or developmental delay. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Are legumes really bad for you? I eat chick peas, nuts, and beans on a regular basis. The web has a lot of conflicting information on the subject.
What is the glycemic index and glycemic load for plantain chips? It is not on glycemicindex.Com or on health.Harvard.Edu so please don't link sites.
Search Internet: Glycemic index of plaintains depends upon whether it's raw, green or ripe & whether boiled or fried (i suppose there are other ways to cook/eat them, too): http://www.Ehow.Com/facts_5765402_glycemic-index-plantains_.Html. Glycemic load is dependent upon serving size, eg 1 ounce vs 100g: http://nutritiondata.Self.Com/facts/snacks/10650/2. I use links so you'll know i didn't just pull numbers from. ...Read more
Can cooking food from a packet that has fallen on the floor cause food poisoning if cooked on low heat? If you handle the food after touching packet?
Unlikely: Of course it depends somewhat on the floor it falls on. Cleaning off food that has fallen and then cooking it should protect against food poisoning but then there are some floor you can eat off and some that you would not want to. Evaluate the floor, clean the food and then cook it thoroughly and you should be fine. Otherwise, maybe you need to discard it. ...Read more

8mo is preferring solids. Not just jarred food but pieces to chew. Can I give him soft scrambled eggs? I read conflicting reviews on allergies/safety.
Yes: It is no longer that controversial. Recent studies showed that introducing table food later than the 1st 6 months of life may actually increase the risk of developing food allergies. It appears that it is better to get the baby on regular food (if tolerated) as early as 4 months of age. ...Read more
No!: Regardless of whether you heat it or not, "pork luncheon meat from a can" is likely to be packed with unhealthy fats, vast amounts of sodium, nitrite preservatives and other poisons. That means fresh and unadulterated fruits, vegetables and meats and whole grains. ...Read more
