Which is safer for a 4 yo boy (g6pd defficiency) wz hard cough, to give him butalin syrup+ rhinathiol or beclazone 250 and ventolin inhalers

?

Cough: It would be preferable to give ventolin for acute relief of symptoms & to continue beclazone as a controller medication. If there are any signs of respiratory distress (difficulty speaking, fast breathing, retractions etc.) or lack of response to therapy, please talk to your doctor immediately or take your child to the nearest emergency room for evaluation & treatment. ...Read more

R there any drugs for severe m.E? (i dislike drugs but uk nhs wont prescribe nutritiional/herbal/acupuncture type trtmnt on long tern basis..Only drug

Not exactly but: M.E. Is a diagnosis of exclusion. My experience is that most with it actually have chronic lyme with co-infections (but drugs are of limited help for that). Also, many are hypothyroid- even if their TSH is "normal" so thyroid hormone can help quite a bit. Many have intestinal parasites- not always easily diagnosed- many drugs can help these, but so can natural things like papaya seeds.See comment:. ...Read more

OTC Pepcid works for this. Most often, a prolonged cough is multifactorial so the inhaler may be helping. Other strategies that often work are saline nasal washes, and steroid nasal spray. Consider seeing a Cough specialist! ...Read more

Permanent airway...: First, congrats on making to age 7 a preemie who has obviously had a rough time of it. Child is on great meds and therap. However, despite all of these, your child likely has permanent and possibly irreversible changes in his airways that all the meds in the world are not going to change. High asthma, body shakes and taking ventilin pump oftenly, and got medication named “clarithromycin tablets USP 500 mg. Synclar 500 cipla” for cough?

antibiotics ; asthma: Clarithromycin is a macrolide class of antibiotic that effectively treats most upper and lower respiratory tract infections (not virus). There is some evidence that it has "anti-inflammatory properties" and used to treat asthma. The primary treatment for persistent asthma is an inhaled steroid sometimes in combination with a long-acting bronchodilator. An asthma specialist can assist in a plan. ...Read more

PCP gave me Breo to try for asthma. Tried once, seemed OK. FDA hates. Other MD switched me to Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol). Cannot tolerate. Is Breo safe?

They are similiar: Keep in mind that these are similiar inhalers, they both contain an inhaled steroid. the breo in addition contains a long acting brohchodilator. Each of these inhalers are considered " preventive inhalers" and taking one dose on one day would not be helpful. They both take several weeks of dosing as prescribed to feel better! Is there a reason for the doctor switch? ...Read more
