Somewhat better.: Ibuprophen is anti-inflammtory has well as being a pain reliever. Acetominophen is a pain reliever but has no effect on inflammation. While neither is all you should be taking for an inflammatory arthritis. Both can be used in degenerative arthritis, but there is some inflammations exist in this condition too! Go iwth the ibuprophen or naproxen. Remember, either can also be taken with tylenol! ...Read more

I take piroxicam daily for arthritis, I have a headache, would it be ok to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen? Thanks!
See details: I am not a fan of piroxicam as it is an NSAID with fairly high risk of side effects. I would consult with a rheumatologist about your arthritis. You can take acetaminophen with piroxicam but I would not take another NSAID such as ibuprofen. That just increases side effect risk. ...Read more
I take 800mg of ibuprofen a day for arthritis pain. Is it ok to have an alcoholic beverage? No more details...
Key word is "AN": Ibuprofen may increase the chance of stomach irritation and bleeding, and alcohol can do the same thing and increase that effect of the ibuprofen. One drink, now and again, is unlikely to cause any problems, but multiple drinks on a regular basis can cause gastritis with the possiblity of causing an ulcer and/or bleeding. Taking the Ibuprofen together with a meal, or milk or an antacid may help. ...Read more

Not ibuprofen: You can take vicodin if that is prescribed to you for the pain as the Acetaminophen will not cause any issues related to the meloxicam. If the current regimen is not helping, discuss with your physician other options like injections. Hope this helps! ...Read more

There are other potential causes which can be very serious. Hope you start feeling better! ...Read more

Different suggestion: Misoprostil and diclofenac are the active ingredients in Arthrotec (diclofenac and misoprostol). Diclofenac is the NSAID for arthritis and misoprostil is used to prevent NSAID ulcers. Studies show short term protection is about equal for misoprostil and omrprazole, but misoprostil has a higher relapse rate and more side effects. Maalox reduces heartburn but does not protect from ulcers, so your NSAID plus Omeprazole best. ...Read more
