I take 800mg of ibuprofen a day for arthritis pain. Is it ok to have an alcoholic beverage? No more details...
Key word is "AN": Ibuprofen may increase the chance of stomach irritation and bleeding, and alcohol can do the same thing and increase that effect of the ibuprofen. One drink, now and again, is unlikely to cause any problems, but multiple drinks on a regular basis can cause gastritis with the possiblity of causing an ulcer and/or bleeding. Taking the Ibuprofen together with a meal, or milk or an antacid may help. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Not ibuprofen: You can take vicodin if that is prescribed to you for the pain as the Acetaminophen will not cause any issues related to the meloxicam. However, do not take Ibuprofen with our as they are both nsaids and can increase the side effects you may have, including GI upset and ulcers. I take piroxicam daily for arthritis, I have a headache, would it be ok to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen? Thanks!
See details: I am not a fan of piroxicam as it is an NSAID with fairly high risk of side effects. I would consult with a rheumatologist about your arthritis.
