Past 2 months pain in left side of head base neck. Now I have random pain and numbness/tingling in arms and legs. What's wrong? Symptoms mimic MS

Explanation: Although MS can be a tough diagnosis due to vague symptoms, I would doubt your problems are caused by MS. Suggest you have an MRI of your neck, as that is most likely the anatomic location for your issues. Your head/neck pain could be c/w Occipital Neuralgia, and could consider problems in arms/legs due to peripheral neuropathy if neck films are benign.

Depends on workup: No need to be terrified; your taxes are still due on April 15 aren't they? Or are you getting a refund? Are you getting your BILLIONS BACK THIS YEAR? The fact is you're 22, young, & spry & on edge a bit from the sound of things. BREATHE & realize that when doctorS don't find anything then, you may be letting anxiousness get the best of you. Numbness: Are you anxious are feeling a lot of stress. The most common cause of numbness of hands and feet is anxiety with or without hyperventilation. Hyperventilation, repeated deep breaths, can occur in some people who just sigh a lot. If the numbness or tingling is constant and progressive, you need to see a doctor to evaluate for spinal cord or peripheral nerve problems (rare).

Neuropathy?: Neuropathy is a comon cause of tingling and numbness to the hands and feet, specially if diabetes is present. Duration of symptoms is also very important, as well as family history. Neuro-degenerative disorders must be excluded, if history or physical exam is suggestive. Vitamin and nutritional deficencies is a rare cause, but possible if an enteropathy is present, or bariatric surgery was done.

What would cause numbness and tingling n ur arms and legs?

What would cause numbness and tingling n ur arms and legs?

Many things: One thing is a peripheral neuropathy, but that usually starts in the feet, later gets into the fingers. It's not really arms and legs, but more a "feet then hands" kind of thing. Certain meds can do it, too. Discuss with your doc if persistent and/or worsening.

See a neurologist: Possible issues with a developing peripheral neuropathy, but could also be a problem in the spinal cord. Also, should consider multiple sclerosis. Since all of this can be treated and handled successfully, no need to delay. Get evaluated and start reversing your issues.

Walk around: You should try walking around every 30 minutes or so to get your blood flowing. Try not to stay seated continuously for a long period of time, try stretching your legs out and moving your arms if you aren't able to get out of your chair.

Hello! I've been having cramps in my feet, legs, hands and arms for the past 2-3 weeks along with tingling and numbness. What's your advice?

Hello! I've been having cramps in my feet, legs, hands and arms for the past 2-3 weeks along with tingling and numbness. What's your advice?

Simple or Not.: Having cramping, numbness and tingling in all four extremities would best be considered after a thorough exam and evaluation. The symptoms can be caused by a multiple of reasons that must be considered and eliminated. Having these symptoms for only 2-3 weeks does not necessarily mean the underlying cause has not existed longer. Start with a primary care physician, then possibly, a neurologist.
