Nerve impingement: can be caused by being sandwiched between two spinal bones, pressed by a bulging disc. It can cause muscle spasm and back pain. This condition must be professionally managed. MRI of what?: When you say you had an MRI...of what? The area of the salpingo or the back? If so, which part of the back (lumbar, thoracic, the whole thing). You say it shows nothing...you mean you have no bulging discs, no degenerative disease, no evidence of osteoarthritic changes? May I swap spines with YOU? Symptoms of bowelmovements of only mucus and jelly fish like things. leg arm feet numbness and tingling. upper and lower back pain. wbc of 14.8?

This requires eval: Your symptoms and signs (white count of 14,800) are numerous and only an in-person evaluation/examination can adequately assess them. I might think of some form of infectious colitis with your mucus BM's and elevated WBC count; the numbness/tingling and pain could be something entirely different. I believe the best advice is go to ER (or your doc's office if you can get in today!) Good wishes:) ...Read more

I have a pain in my upper back which causes numbness in my arm?

Varies : The most common cause would probably be a pinched nerve in your neck. Other potential causes could potentially include thoracic outlet syndrome or one of multiple peripheral nerve entrapment syndromes such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Having middle/upper back numbness on the left side. Comes and goes. Feels extremely uncomfortable when i bend over. Could it be a pinched nerve?

Having middle/upper back numbness on the left side. Comes and goes. Feels extremely uncomfortable when i bend over. Could it be a pinched nerve?

Yes: It's possible the numbness may be from compression of a nerve. The nerves that leave the spinal cord divide into branches. The compression can occur at the point where the nerve leaves the spinal cord or further on down in one of the branches. I suspect in your case it's one of the local branches. If so it's likely to be temporary. You can try an over the counter pain reliever. If it persists see Dr. ...Read more
