Feeling numbness/tingling right side of face& body for almost a day. What can be causing this? I felt a pinch on right arm when it started.

Need to see Dr.: You are young, so this is reassuring. However, when your face is involved, it suggests that you are having something happening in your brain, not in your neck as could cause just arm tingling.

Ever had migraines? Sometimes you can have other migraine symptoms without pain. The worrisome concern would be a stroke or other spot in the brain. You need to have an exam and maybe a brain scan. Read more

What would cause sudden numbness in my face, lips and right arm? And still am having it and it's been more than a week

What would cause sudden numbness in my face, lips and right arm? And still am having it and it's been more than a week

Not so sudden: If it is one event, then it's not so sudden but now subacute. Or if you are talking about recurrent episodes over several days, then most likely transient cerebral ischemic attacks may be occurring or perhaps sensory seizures. If those symptoms are constant, even if intensity is variable, then a small stroke is likely. This needs neurologic attention soon--like today! Read more

Nerve pressure: Your symptoms could be due to pressure of the nerves emerging from the neck. If the symptoms have developed recently, you may need a new. Cervical MRI. If negative, PT and manual tratment to you neck may be needed. Anti inflamatory meds are also a possibility. Read more

What causes only numbness (no tingling at all, just feeling then all of a sudden numbness), in both legs, right arm, right side of face and neck?

Numbness: In young patients, demyelinating disorders is always a consideration. Other autoimmune disorders, or vitamin deficiencies may need to be excluded. Check with your physician for proper history and physical examination. This is the best way for an accurate diagnosis and treatment. Consider consultation with a neurologist. Hope you feel better soon. Read more

Pain in glands under my jaw after drinking alcohol. Strong radiating pain in right arm. Slight numbness on right side from face to waist. Ms pain?

Pain in glands under my jaw after drinking alcohol. Strong radiating pain in right arm. Slight numbness on right side from face to waist. Ms pain?

DO YOU HAVE MS?: Not clear what is going on with you, but the arm pain and numbness could indicate peripheral nerve problems from neck or shoulder, and the extensive numbness might suggest spinal cord compression in neck. Although pain very frequent in ms, your description suggests a different etiology. See you doctor and explore causation. Read more

Pain in glands under my jaw after drinking alcohol. Strong radiating pain in right arm. Slight numbness on right side from face to waist. Ms pain?

Don't drink alcohol!: You already have a condition which has adverse effects on your nervous system, and you are adding a drug which has very well-known adverse effects on the nervous system as well. Talk to your neurologist. Alcohol should not be a regular part of your life. While an occasional drink may not cause any problems, multiple drinks or more regular drinking certainly CAN. Read more

I am getting numbness in face and right arm at night is this due to poor circulation I also have pain in left carotid artery and weak heart?

I am getting numbness in face and right arm at night is this due to poor circulation I also have pain in left carotid artery and weak heart?

Concerning: A blockage in the left carotid area can cause numbness, tingling and paralysis of the right side of the body. A vascular surgeon is best qualified to deal with this serious issue and I feel that this should be evaluated urgently. I assume you are already taking daily aspirin and more treatment may be needed to avoid a stroke if there is significant blockage in that artery. Read more

See your physician: These symptoms may represent a specific kind of headache (migraine) or other neurological condition, seizure, referred neuropathy, etc. Keep a log of the location, timing, duration, characteristic, and intensity of these episodes and take the log with you to your physician. My right arm is twitching and my left leg plus the right side of my head is numb?

My right arm is twitching and my left leg plus the right side of my head is numb?

Odd symptoms: Antonio these symptoms don't follow anatomical correctness. Right arm and right side face and left leg. These are strange dysesthesias and don't follow the anatomical correctness of stroke for example and it would be very unlikely to be a stroke. But because they are odd, I would have a neurologist check you at least once. Thanks Read more
