Numbness In Left Hand Little Finger
I'm having numbness in my little finger on my left hand. What could it be and I'm also a diabetic?
The tip of my little finger on my left hand feels numb. I thought it will go away but after 3 days still the numbness is there. What is the cause.
Several causes: The tip of the little finger miss incinerated by the lunar nerve. At the elbow the lunar nerve is relatively shallow and exposed to trauma of various kinds. People call this the crazy bone, but injury to the lunar nerve is what happens. Also the small digital artery that supplies it if damaged can cause numbness, but then often the finger tip is blue, white. If it persists over a week see your doc. ...Read more

This is the nerve that travels along the inner elbow and causes the 'funny bone' sensation when the elbow is hit in a certain way. Sometimes the nerve can get pinched in the elbow and surgery can relieve the pressure. An EMG/NCS test can determine if this is what is going on. Good luck! ...Read more

Numbness: Numbness of fingers can be due to pinching of nerves at the wrist such as seen in carpal tunnel syndrome. At this point your symptoms are minor, but if they worsen or start to involve other regions of the hand, consult a hand SURGEON or neurologist for diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

Pressure neuropathy: Is my best guess, based on your sleep position. Make sure you are not sleeping on your hand, or propping it up or on your chest. Does it eventually go away each day? If not, you could also have an odd pattern of carpal tunnel syndrome. Wear a wrist brace to sleep (not tight though) and see your doc if it persists. ...Read more
