I have a herniated disc in my neck, I get numbness down both arms to my hands. I can feel tingling all down R arm this morning. Is this normal?

Depends?: If the herniated disc is resulting in signficant foraminal stenosis (pinching nerve roots) then yes, that is normal. Please follow up with your doctor.

Can a herniated disk in the low back area cause numbness and tingling in the arms and hands? Mri of neck was neg, no abnormalities shown.

No: Herniated disc of the low back can cause numbness and tingling in one leg (rarely both), but not in the arms. 25% of americans have herniated disc in the lumbar spine without any symptoms. Seek the help of a rehabilitation physician who can sort out the nerve, muscle and soft tissue problems that can produce your symptoms.

Depends on workup: No need to be terrified; your taxes are still due on April 15 aren't they? Or are you getting a refund? Are you getting your BILLIONS BACK THIS YEAR? The fact is you're 22, young, & spry & on edge a bit from the sound of things. BREATHE & realize that when doctorS don't find anything then, you may be letting anxiousness get the best of you. Neuropathy: Numbness and tingling (paresthesias) in the hand and arm can be due to nerve compression in several areas: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (from pinched nerve in wrist), Ulnar Neuropathy (nerve compression at elbow) and Cervical radiculopathy (compression in the neck) For more information on CTS see: http://bit. I have arm numbness and tingling in my left arm but also sometimes my right arm. My hand also feels like it wants to cripple up. I'm only 26 years old.

Arm numbness: Numbness in the arms often occurs from sleeping with the arms bent or working in a job with a lot of repetition. Other frequent causes include spinal stenosis or compression of the spinal cord. Diabetes, low B12 levels, and low thyroid function are common causes too. A neurological evaluation and a nerve conduction test can identify the cause of the numbness.

Hello. I have been having numbness and tingling in my arm, wrist, and hand. I have a carpal boss and am having it removed. What is the recovery time?

2 week to 3 months: Reduction of numbness and tingling can occur within a few days. However, swelling and tightness in the hand and fingers can take several weeks. If tightness persists beyond two months, consult your surgeon. A steroid injection into the hand may help complete healing.

How likely am I to be diagnosed with ms? I originally went to the doctor for numbness and tingling in my hand and foot and have gotten severe pain in my opposite arm and hip on two occasions. One white spot was found on my brain mri, minor degenerative c

Hard to say: One white spot on brain MRI is nonspecific. If it is in a particular area (corpus callosum) it would be more concerning, otherwise it could have been from prior brain infection (encephalitis) or trauma (shearing injury). Your symptoms are a bit more worrisome. Perhaps a spinal fluid analysis will help. Neurology consult would be useful.
