Not an easy question: I am wondering what other tests were ordered and why you saw doc? The test measures for presence & degree of "tumor surface antigens" , much like the screening blood "psa" level which screens males for prostate cancer. The tsa less useful but helpful postoperatively in colon cancer or breast cancer survivors. It is sometimes helpful in screening for new cancers. HSV 2 IgG test : Old infections are present when you produce igg and you no longer produce igm. The test is designed to give a yes/no answer if they did not quantify it.
