Number Of Lymph Nodes In Human Body
Lymph nodes: They act as a repository for lymphocytes which is one of several defenses we have to fight infection.
Wucheria: This is a parasitic filarial nematode (roundworm) spread by a mosquito vector. It finds its way to the lymphatic system.
A complicated questi: Why do you not ask a simple and straight question? Please tell us what is your concern so that we can guide you better. We can also tell you where lymph nodes are located in the body. That is more appropriate question!See 1 more doctor answer

Don't worry too much: If your lymph nodes have truly been "big" your whole life and all over your body, and you don't get sick more than other people, this is probably normal for your body. But, if your lymph nodes have recently started getting bigger or feel sore/tender, or if you tend to get sick more easily than other people, you should have a complete physical to look for problems with your blood & immune system.
I have pain over my entire body that seems to be where all of my lymph nodes are. I have a fibro diagnosis that I feel is incorrect. Possible causes?
Lymphadenopathy: You cannot increase the number of lymph nodes, only increase the number of lymph nodes that are enlarged and thus become noticeable. If they are inflamed, it is called mesenteric lymphadenitis. Any cause of inflammation or infiltration can increase lymph node size, so the list is too long - but includes viral, bacterial and immunologic causes and rarely, lymphoma.
Monitoring System: The lymphatic system absorbs and carries things too big to go into the arteries and veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. The lymph nodes "taste" the lymph to see if anything bad is there like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.
Not necessarily...: The lymphatic circulation is a conduit for cancer cells to exit their organ of origin and spread elsewhere in the body. Lymph nodes are filters which may "capture" some of these cancer cells; their removal then gives us information about what may be going on elsewhere in the body. The prognosis of lymph node-positive cancer is highly dependent on the type of cancer & it's chemosensitivity.See 1 more doctor answer
If there is no changing in size or number of neck lymph nodes for more than month Is that mean they aren't cancerous?
Need more info: Your general understanding of the issue is correct. However, you should check the glands every couple of weeks. If any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, you should see a doctor. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
If sum of ur lymph nodes were biopsied as + can they float inside the body & can setup anywhere 2 start forming another tumor?
Not exactly...: Lymph nodes (ln) are designed to trap anything that is "foreign" to our body such as cancer cells. We remove them to stage cancers; if cancer cells spread from the organ it originated in into the ln, we can assume that there are also cancer cells "elsewhere", ie, liver, lungs, bone, etc. Thankfully, chemotherapy can often often kill these cells before they take over these other organs.See 2 more doctor answers
Soft movable lymph nodes in neck less than 1 cm No other symptoms If they don't change in size or the number is that mean they are safe Thank you :)?
Very possibly...: But I think you should get an expert opinion. I would advise you have your physician examine them and confirm your assessment that these lymph nodes are benign. Then you can agree together on whether it is safe for you to self-monitor them, or if she/he wants you to return for a recheck just to make sure all remains stable/benign. Good wishes:)
When some lymph nodes test positive after removal does it mean there is cancer somewhere in the body or that their is just higher chance 4 recurrence?
POSITIVE FOR CANCER?: The exact test and situation needs to be clear to answer this question. For example with breast cancer the finding of cancer in lymph nodes is generally associated with a higher risk of the disease coming back. However haaving said that we now know that this one finding has little predictive value by itself, so I would consult with your doctor about all the parameters of your disease.
Is it normal to feel several lymph nodes in several places on body? There not bigger than 1cm and they are not tender? Should I be worried
Check with your doc: Probably nothing but better check with your doc to be safe.See 4 more doctor answers
