If I eat lettuce, raw carrots, steamed broccoli and beets, grated cheese and one piece of meat daily for breakfast lunch and dinner will I lose weighr?
Depends On A Lot: That all depends on your current weight, body fat to muscle ratio, amount you eat and total daily calories ingested, your activity level and overall basal metabolic rate. One thing for sure, you're on the right track in terms of WHAT you eat, although you didn't specify what KINDS of meat you eat or if you ever might eat some vegetable sources of protein.I think that just might cover it. ...Read more

My daily breakfast is two slices of whole wheat bread with crunchy peanut butter and fresh blueberries. Is it a good breakfast to eat daily?
Don't have the rest: of your history to know for sure if it's good. As long as you're not allergic to blueberries, wheat, or peanuts (common allergies that can manifest subclinically). Also as long as it's not GMO wheat, peanuts. Usually the first meal of the day should be the largest (since you can burn it off during the day) and hold you well past lunch.I would increase the protein component.Sounds more like lunch. ...Read more

Yes: Because with whole fruits and veggies, you get the fiber which results in less consumption and quicker satiety (fullness). Smoothies have more sugar from the fruits and veggies due to more being used to make the smoothie. Eat 2 Beat CA, Pt.12: WHOLE GRAINS: For years, we've been urging our patients to eat three to five servings of whole grains a day. There's good reason: they are linked to a lower risk of colorectal cancer, as a 2013 Danish study of 108,000 people has found. What's more, whole grains offer protection against other chronic conditions, including heart disease & type 2 diabetes. (Ref: AARP, 5/2014) ...Read more

Reasonable but...: Sounds good overall but advise more protein at breakfast- add walnuts/pecans to oatmeal or have organic eggs sometimes. Not corn flakes!: I don't consider corn flakes a healthy diet choice, esp. If not organic as they are genetically modified and contain bt toxin . Corn flakes are a great example of a high-carb food with low nutrient density that increases risk of obesity & diabetes. Yogurt is fine but should also be organic. Organic eggs are a good choice, but fruits, veggies, nuts & beans are good choices too. See my comment:. ...Read more
