Can narcotic pain pills diliuid, oxycodone, nucynta (tapentadol) cause hallucinations in a 72 year old women she says she's having them?
Absolutely YES: Why is a 72 yr old women taking dilaudid, oxycodone, and/or nucynta, (tapentadol) for chronic back pain? Not only are there GI effects such as nausea and constipation, but there is risk of sleep apnea, delirium, and cardiac arrhythmias. What to do if I have been on a combination of morphin ER and roxicodone (oxycodone) for over 6 years but I am?
Combo narcs: The question is why were you prescribed these drugs in the first place? For the most part, narcotics should be preserved for acute pain (a broken bone, burns, surgery etc). Its generally a bad idea for chronic pain. I would suggest you try to get weaned off these drugs (not easy). There are better long term substitutes. See a pain/addiction specialist. ...Read more

I'm taking Oxycodone HCL5 MG for pain, ZolipidemTart ER 12.5 MG for sleep, and Clonazpam 0.5 MG for anxiety. I can't sleep no matter when I take them?
Addiction, tolerance: Hi. I'm not preaching at you, but those are 3 controlled substances, all of which are potentially addicting, and all of which can induce tolerance. And if I had to guess, I'd guess you have a low pain threshold and an addictive personality. Might I suggest you worry less about your sleep and more about your chemical dependency. Again, not preaching, just wishing you good health. Good luck! ...Read more
I take 2mgs of xanax (alprazolam) 3x daily (started at. 5mg 4x 35 years ago). Is 10mgs oxycodone 2x and 15mgs morphine ER 2x for back diseases safe with the xanax (alprazolam)?
It is not safe: Taking that much of an opiate can be deadly if not under the care of an experienced MD, preferably a pain specialist. According to the CDC, accidental deaths due to opiates (hydrocodone, oxycodone, morphine) cause 44 deaths PER DAY! This is an epidemic, so it is pretty safe to say that opiates are NOT safe medications unless under the CLOSE supervision of a Dr! Http://www. Cdc. Gov/drugoverdose/epidemic/index. Html ...Read more

My friend was recently @the er. They gave her two. 5 mg dilaudid IV and two 5mg oxycodone ir. She also took 4 vicodin 5/500mg. Could she at risk of od?
Possibly: Overdose is always a possibility when dealing with narcotics. Each person and their history are required to answer completely. If this person is chronically using large doses of narcotics then they will have a tolerance to these drugs and will require more than the average non narcotic using patient to experience respiratory depression and death. Narcotics are dangerous period. ...Read more

You won't know if it will help until you try it. If the er physician prescribed it, only take it as prescribed and you should theoretically be fine and not have any consequences.
Of course all narcotic pain medications have a risk of death from overdosing, or the development of addiction, but listen to the doctor that prescribed it. ...Read more

After 4 lumbar surgeries and fusions from L3 to S2, (racepinephrine) my 10/325mg oxycodone and 30mg Morphine ER aren't working. What options without going stronger?
Go, different: The pendulum has swung from adding more and more opioids to switching to different ones. Nucynta (tapentadol) has proven benefit in nerve pain, and may be a better choice here, but also, consider a spinal, cord stimulator which is non medicine, adjuvants such as gabapentin or, Lyrica, which are non opioids but Lyrica is indicated for spinal, nerve pain as well. Need continuous care: If you know you have crohn's disease, you need routine care from a doctor (primary or gi).
