I went to the dentist today and had 2 root canals done. I had no novocane. Now my lip is going numb. I had this work done at 4:30. I'm now wondering if I should be concerned?
Are these the lower teeth on the side, behind the canine? If you had no anesthesia, the nerves in the teeth were probably non-vital. Did the dentist give you antibiotics? Were you fine when you left the office?
You may be getting a severe sweling with pressure in the bone which is putting pressure on the nerve, causing the numbness. This is probably from an infection.
You need to see someone asap. Call his emergency number, or get yourself to an emergency room. They may not be able to treat the tooth but they can give you antibiotics if you did not get a prescription from your dentist. And see the dentist the first chance you have. ...Read more
