What's the difference between novolin insulin 70/30 and humilin insulin70/30?

What's the difference between novolin insulin 70/30 and humilin insulin70/30?

Novolog is faster: The '70' portion of both is same, but the '30' portion of NovoLog has faster onset of action <15 min vs about 30 min for novolin (insulin)/humulin. Otherwise, unit for unit they are about same. The NovoLog thus can be used right before meal, novolin (insulin) should be about 15-30 min before meal. So just timing is different. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read more

Different timing: R is usually given about 1/2 hr prior to a meal. No longer the short acting Insulin of choice because others more effective having shorter 1/2 lives. Difference between humulin and novolin (insulin) n?

Difference between humulin and novolin (insulin) n?

Not much!: Humulin n and novolin n are both forms of nph insulin. Nph Insulin is considered intermediate-acting (generally less than 24 hours in duration, usually 8-12 hours). (usa), and novolin is made by novo nordisk (denmark). ...Read more
