Nouriva Repair Medication
I have ulceritive colitis which has flared up. I have an 4cm section that is affected. Will that repair itself when i use medication?
Variable: It's impossible to say with any accuracy. Different people respond to pain differently. Ideally you would need some medication for only a short period of time although cases do arise where people stay on their medication longer. Only time will tell. ...Read more
I broke my hip, had it repaired, fell again, a few weeks later, had x ray, got a lot of pain, what medication?
Not a 2-fer: Medications to help you sleep tend to slow the body down, and would potentially delay muscle growth and repair. Supplementing pre-/post-workout (like with whey protein shake), might help with the muscle issues. If your workout ends about 60-90 minutes before planned bed time, it may help you get to sleep--just don't work out too close to bedtime. ...Read more

I've had Post-SSRI sexual dysfunction (PSSD) from taking Citalopram for about two years now. Is there any medication available that would enhance dopamine signalling or did I fry my dopamine circuits beyond repair?
Doubtful: How long have you been of the citalopram? Can take upwards 6 mo sometimes to see full effect off the med. At 38 could also be some early ED issues not related to SSRI use. Discuss with your provider ED med trial (if no contraindications). Hope this helps. Best of luck. Dr R ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I have a hemi Retinol occlusion. I do not want to have injections. Can I take any medication for it. Can the eye repair itself?
Several things:: There is no medication for hemiretinal occlusion (stroke). The spontaneous recovery is at the edges of the damaged area but the central area where the blood supply was cut off will loss function. Injections are to prevent abnormal vessels from growing which can threaten the rest of the retina. Before the injections there was no realistic treatment. It is your choice to decline them or not. ...Read more

Use sitz bath twice a day with worm water to relax the sphincter. Take a pain medicine before a bowel movement or ask your doctor to change the dose for you. Take stool softners every day. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Are there any medications/ herbs/ supplements one can take to repair gut lining in cases with irritable bowel syndrome?
Many: You are correct that many with ibs have an inflamed gut lining (leaky gut syndrome). Try to find the cause- it could be due to medications, alcohol, yeast, unfriendly bacteria, parasites, food allergies etc. Once these are addressed, there are many supps that can help the gut to heal like glutamine, dgl, marshmallow root & slippery elm. See http://www.Stopleakygut.Com/healing & my comment for more. ...Read more
