What causes extreme, exessive thirst? I've been drinking water all day. But nothing's quenches my thirst.
Many possibilities: Causes of extreme thirst include recently eating highly spiced or salty foods; extreme dehydration from sweating, etc; bleeding enough to significantly decrease blood volume; diabetes and diabetes insipidus; certain medications; severe infections; heart, liver, or kidney failure; and psychogenic polydipsia. Possible Sjogren's: Without knowing exactly what blood tests were performed, it is difficult to answer your question with certainty. There is no difference. The regular water is boring, while or seltzer water you put some effort and feel as a more satisfying alternative. The fact is that both are equally good for you.

Drinks like gatorade/powerade replenish you and quench your thirst. But how is this possible when they have sodium (salt)? Doesn't salt dehydrate you?

Constant dry mouth: You know Jeremy I usually don't suggest seeing your doctor right off the bat but for this complaint that is exactly what I would recommend. You may have diabetes or another endocrine problem. In any case, I think the possibilities are to many to go it on your own. Maybe: The term to describe this is polydipsia. It's usually a symptom of something else. Both type of diabetes can cause polydipsia (diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus).
