According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

For a thin 118 pds, 5'5 woman, when should I show in pregnancy? At 5 weeks, slight pouch but has always been there. Current pants measurement is 27 in

Varies: It really varies across body types, people, and pregnancies. Some people show early, and some can be six or more months along before anyone notices. And women who didn't show until later in one pregnancy may look pregnant earlier in another pregnancy. Time to "showing" doesn't have any correlation to baby size or health of the pregnancy. ...Read more

Hi,
I am 38+3 weeks pregnant and past 2 weeks I have had a lot of discharge, mucas like, but no bloody show. Now all of a sudden I have no discharge!

It's OK: The baby may be down far enough in the pelvis that the mucous is trapped in the vagina right now. You may get a rush of discharge at some point. Are you feeling well otherwise and the baby moving OK? Talk to your OB if you have concerns. ...Read more

38 weeks pregnant and a lot of bloody show baby is transverse and booked in for section should I call ER or is this ok ?

Get checked now pls: I would head to your labor and delivery to get checked right away. Bloody show can mean your cervix is dilating. At 38 weeks with a transverse baby you do not want your to water to break as this puts you at risk for the cord to come out. You also need to make sure the bleeding is not from something else. Get checked and make sure all is ok. ...Read more

I am 36 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow, and I just started my bloody show. Is this an indication that labor is about to start?

I am 36 weeks pregnant as of tomorrow, and I just started my bloody show. Is this an indication that labor is about to start?

Signs of labor: Typically a bloody show occurs while you are in labor. You may pass your mucous plug that could seem bloody. I recommend that you see your doctor to get this evaluated. Most babies at 36 weeks do well if delivery was to occur on its own, but you want to make sure you didn't break your water. I recommend that you see your doctor for an exam. ...Read more

38 weeks pregnant dilated to 1 at last appt. I had a little piece of brown in the toilet with greenish mucus on the tp. Could this be my bloody show?

Maybe: Brown after wiping when 38 weeks pregnant can be spotting after an exam, if a woman just had a pelvic exam, or can be a little bloody show as the cervix starts to change. Having brown after an exam or a little bloody show doesn't necessarily mean going into labor soon however. Good luck. ...Read more

34 weeks pregnant had bloody show 2 days ago. 3 cms. I'm constipated and whenever I try to use the bathroom I start bleeding again. Is this normal?

Let your OB/MW know: No, not normal. Someone should be aware of this & watching you closely. Are you sure the blood is from your vagina & not hemorrhoids? Do you know where the umbilical cord & placenta are in your uterus? Near the cervical os (opening)? 34 weeks is viable (with ICU support) but you need to get as close to 37-40 weeks for lung/ surfactant development. Has anyone mentioned a cerclage and/or bed rest? ...Read more
