Nosebleed Scab In Nose
Catch 22. Got lots of nasal drip from a cold but every time I blow my nose (even softly) a nostril scab tears& my nose bleeds. To blow or not to blow?
A nosebleed is a symptom in which there is enough bleeding in the nose for a person to see it coming out of the nose or taste it going down the throat. Nosebleeds are often due to a broken small blood vessel, and stop when a clot forms at the break in the blood vessel. ...Read more
Gushing nosebleeds that last 20 mins or longer when I wash my face or shower & at random. I have had 7 in the past 3 days. No scabs visible in nostril?
Squeeze : Squeeze your nostrils together with your thumb and forefinger for 10 minutes. Lean forward so you don't choke on blood. Sit up so your nose is above your heart. If it fails to improve after 2 attempts, consider going to an emergency room or the otolaryngologist. Afrin nasal spray may help and can be tried once. Finally consider applying petrolatum jelly to the nostril after the bleed and avoid lifting heavy objects for at least a day. ...Read more
I've had three nose bleeds today and one yesterday! nosebleeds are not normal for me. I know it's not drugs because i don't do them. :)?
Sealing the vessel: Nosebleeds are caused by a bleeding blood vessel or several small vessels, usually on the middle wall of one nostril. Cauterization means using heat, electricity or a chemical to essentially burn the edges of the vessel and seal it closed so blood won't leak anymore. ...Read more

Should i be concerned if i'm 16 and got two really bad nosebleeds in less than 24 hours in two different places with no cuts in my nose?
Not necessarily: If concerned go see an ent. He can usually find the spot and stop it with cauterization. This can prevent the need for nasal packing . If you take aspirin, stop. If you've been taking a lot of Ibuprofen it might help to stop that. This time of year the nose gets dry, try using a nasal saline gel spray in your nose, and maybe a netti pot or sinus rinse bottle to keep the nasal mucosa moist. ...Read more
My fiance had his nose cauterized 9 months ago and has had three nosebleeds in the last 24 hours... on the same side... what should we do?
Epistaxis: Go back to the ENT again. Sometimes it takes more than one cauterization to completely resolve the problem. Or, in some cases there is a new area on the same side causing problems. Maybe he has predisposing factors for bleeding like medications, hereditary coagulation problems, or anatomic issues like a deviated septum. ...Read more

My 15 month old bumped heads with my 4 year old and got a nosebleed, which has stopped. She and her nose seem fine. Do i need to worry at all?
No knockout/no pbm: The trauma that knocks you out, even briefly, has produced a concussion. If the trauma wasn't enough to cause even brief loss of function is unlikely to be a problem. Some will throw up once or seem dazed with a headache. If she starts vomiting multiple times, i would have her seen. The nose of most at that age is pretty forgiving. ...Read more

Nosebleeds are normal, but outta no where, my nose started bleeding a lot, more than you'd usually get or see. Is this okay? I wasnt hurt or anything.
Severe nose bleed: Nosebleeds are common. However, severe bleeding is not and be a cause for concern. It is certainly not normal to have nosebleeds daily. Most nosebleeding situations should resolve with a few days unless there are other underlying problems.
Some of these predisposing conditions include deficiency of clotting factors, high blood pressure resulting in rupture of the vessels, trauma to the nasal membranes, sinus disease, vascular lesions, or rarely tumors of the nasal passages.
Your husband's condition should be evaluated by an ENT specialist promptly. Besides treating any underlying condition, prolonged bleeding can lead to anemia which can then lead to other complications. ...Read more

Little cousin picks her nose, will it change anything if she uses a tissue to pick her nose?Or will she still have the risk of getting a cold&nosebleed
No difference likely: A tissue would be more socially acceptable, but if she is bleeding, she is overdoing things and picking with a finger or a finger buffered by tissue is not very different. This is not likely to cause a cold unless picking with a hand that has been in direct contact with somebody else with a cold. This is caused by a virus introduced into the nose directly. ...Read more
My little cousin picks her nose. Can she get sick from that or is the only thing she can get is nosebleeds from that? Also, can u tell me how to stop her
Nosepicking= no good: Besides the grossness factor, there are some health risks. The most common way to get a cold is by touching germs to the nose or eye, and that is a huge way to do that. Nosebleeding is commonly a result of picking. And if it is done in a rough way, she can even pick a hole through the septum, the divider between the 2 sides of the nose. Her parents and doctor should talk to her about it. ...Read more

What can cause a nosebleed and headache.when I have a headache and my nose starts bleeding it relieves pressure?
I have a cold and have to blow my nose every thirty seconds. Now I have nosebleeds that last ten minutes. What should I do?
Blow more gently: The safest treatment for nasal problems with a cold is saline (salt water) nasal spray. This will also help resolve nose bleeds. You might also use an otc decongestant nasal spray for no more than three days. Nose bleeds are most effectively stopped by putting your thumb and forefinger on either side of the nose at the place where is goes from being hard to being soft. Hold it for five minutes. ...Read more
