Nose Bleed And Coughing Up Blood
Epistaxis: Unless you know something I don't, nose bleed is not related to brain tumor. Nose bleeds are common in winter or with irritation due to colds. Sometimes blood runs down back of throat and is coughed up. Should stop when bleeding stops. Use cool compress and rest. If you have afrin (oxymetazoline) nasal spray put a few squirts up the nostril. This works very well.
The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Cough benefits the host by reducing load and benefits the pathogen which may then spread via aerosol. ...Read more
My friend gets random nose bleeds and coughs up blood randomly as well is that a sign of some kind of cancer?
Nose bleeds: I'm going to resume that your 'friend' is near to your age. Even if they are twice as old I would think cancer is NOT the most likely diagnosis. The most benign possibility is friable nasal tissue that bleeds chronically (and he could cough that as well). More seriously, they may have abnormal blood coagulation for many reasons. See a doc for evaluation.
A 13 year old girl suffers from nose bleeds and coughs up blood. She has regular headaches and trouble seeing. Glasses not working. Help?
ENT doc: She needs to see an ENT doc for assessment of recurrent nosebleeds.
Occasional nose bleeds, coughing up blood, blood in stool, light headed, and ringing of the ears. Also gasping air at night. What could cause this?
Workup/mgt: There are several possible conditions that can be associated with your history. Sometimes there can be a problem with clotting, blood in the stool can be from an upper or lower tract bleed, hypertension may be associated with bleeding as well. A CBC diff, plts, coagulation studies are recommended as part of the work up. Eating green leafy vegetables provides a source of vitamin K.See 1 more doctor answer
My friend has stomach pains, nose bleeds, coughing up blood, fainting, bruises and small lumps on her chest. Can this be lung/breast Cancer?

I'm 19yo & have been perfectly healthy my whole life. I've been having nose bleeds & stomach pain followed by coughing up blood. What's going on?
Nose bleeds: You are probably aspirating the blood from your nose and is irritating your stomach. Your phlegm would also be bloody because of your bloody nose. The important thing is to find the cause of your bloody nose see an ENT specialist for cause and possibly cautery of your nose.
I have had a cough and blocked nose for a week now and today I had a nose bleed that really freaked me out?
No worries: Colds can cause nosebleeds. If it gets worse, i.e. if the nosebleed increases in amount, go to the ER. Please do not pick your nose or blow too hard.
I am suffering from cold for 1 week. I have nose bleed (very liitle). in my cough there are some brown (slight red) spot. Is that ok?
Maybe: The brown in your sputum may be blood or, could be from infection. If it is blood, it may be from your nose bleed or it could be due to coughing very hard. If it persists or increases, you should see a physician.
5 year old, fever around 104 only at night, slight cough, a little congestion, some pain in lower right side of abdomen, and now nose bleed?
I've had a bad cough for 5 weeks now and bad chest keep getting breathless and been sick for bout 3 weeks having headaches and nose bleed 35 weeks pre?
See doctor: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. Cough for 5 weeks is too long to without seeing a doctor.
Sore throat in the morning, lhs shoulder blade is constantly in pain and burning, cough for no reason, occasional nose bleed. No clue what's wrong?
Need more info: This sounds as if it has the potential to be quite severe and warrants a full evaluation by a physician. Suggest you write down all symptoms, their timing and inter-relationships and go and see a doctor. Hopefully it will turn out to be something simple, but if severe and correctable, the sooner you are seen the better. Good luck, and hope this clears up soon.

11 daughter nose been bleeding for a couple days and she has been coughing up blood. We live in nv, what shld I be watching for?
Bloody nose: She is coughing up blood which she has aspirated from her nose. Stop the bleeding in her nose with compression, then apply saline gel to her nostrils. The bleeding is due to dryness in her nasal passages which have eroded her small nasal blood vessels causing the bleeding. Use a vaporizer at night for moisture.
Various things: Nosebleeds can occur from any part of the nose. In children, 90% of nose bleeds occur in front near the nostrils, which is why pinching the nose helps stop it, since pressure is applied. In adults, it can also be posteriorly, so pinching helps in fewer cases. Lean head forward, not backward, so you do not swallow the blood. May need scope to evaluate for nasal mass and blood work to check if ok.
I just had a nose bleed, it seemed like a lot of blood. It also came out in thick amounts (I took a picture). I also coughed some of up.
Your nose and throat: See any air nose and throat specialist to define where the bleeding is coming from
My daughter has coughed up a teaspoon r so of blood, had bout the same on a nose bleed, chest pain n no fever...what do u think?
May be related: If she had the nose bleed before she coughed then the blood could have come from the nosebleed. If she has no lung problems, no fever and no other medical conditions then coughing up blood is not common in children and mostly related to bleeding in the nose or throat- if concerned it is always best to be seen by your doctor!
Nose bleeds in sleep. Recently bloody tears, red eyes, bleeding ears, coughing up blood. Not mass amounts but still noticeable. What could cause this?
SEE MD NOW!: Unexplained bleeding from multiple places could mean that your body's natural blood clotting ability has failed. That is very serious and possibly fatal. See a health provider today!See 2 more doctor answers

How come every time I blow my nose blood comes out? This started happening when I got injured and had a nose bleed.
You may have: A superficial blood vessel that is easily traumatized by the pressure of blowing. See an ENT to discuss your options. In the meantime, try saline rinses and using less pressure to clear your nasal passages.
