Is blood thinner so:: Holy Basil is a wonderful herb with many benefits but has mild blood thinning effects so it is advised to be cautious if also taking blood thinners like aspirin and plagril. It is not known if this is clinically significant and I think it is unlikel to be an issue if you drink only 1 or 2 cups a day. See

Could low dose asa therapy cause you to bruise more easily and to develop purple spots on skin? I am also on HRT and lotrel (amlodipine and benazepril) for hypertension.

Yes: That is a common effect of low dose Aspirin due to the inhibition of blood platelets. If your hypertension is well controlled it can still happen but is more likely if not controlled.
