I have been taking nortriptyline HCl 25 mgs for 2 weeks now at bedtime as instructed. Also 1 mg of Xanax per day. When will i notice results?

Depends on symptoms: If you are taking the nortriptyline for depression then 2 weeks or 1month and then re evaluate. For anxiety disorder take 1 month and then reevaluate. More times then not an increase of dosage is needed and a longer period on the medication, 8 to 10 weeks before resolution or improvement of anxiety symptoms.. ...Read more

Excellent Question : The starting point here would be to see your doctor for an evaluation to rule out an underlying medical cause of the forgetfulness. Nortriptyline is NOT a good choice because it has anticholinergic activity which usually makes memory worse. You need cholinergic neurons and acetylcholine to formulate memories in the brain. Depends.....: Levosulpiride is an anti-psychotic anti-depressive but it also used for irritable bwo syndrome (ibs). Dicyclomine and mebeverine are different class of medications used most commonly for irritable bowl syndrome.
