Microgynon30: finished pack on Thurs, withdrawal bleed usually starts on Sun, but started day after last pill, Fri. 4th month taking it. Normal?

Normal: If it's only the fourth month taking it, your body might still be making itself comfortable with this new medication. Sometimes this may happen if you miss a pill or are taking them, say one day at 8 am and the next day at 2 pm, it can cause some slight "glitches" like that. I don't think what you are describing is worrisome. ...Read more

Is it normal for frequent urination during withdrawal bleed?

Is it normal for frequent urination during withdrawal bleed?

Probably: Many women have increased swelling from fluid retention prior to menses and as the extracellular fluid moves back into the blood stream, increased urination will occur. On BC. Had withdrawal bleeding on time, but was thick and mucus-y. 4 days later I have gobs of egg white mucus coming out. No odor. What's going on?

A few ideas: Mucus is something that's a normal production of the tissues in the vagina and of the cervix. Sometimes there can be excess mucus due to the nabothian cyst in the cervix which produce copious amounts of mucus. In and of itself, mucus isn't a sign of something ominous. You could get an exam to make sure everything looks okay and possibly get tested if any chance of STD exposure ...Read more

Changed withdrawal bleed on Orsythia, no blood. Only brown spotting and chunks of gray tissue. Normal endometrium or something to worry about? Thanks!

Normal: The low dose combined oral contraceptives like Orsythia in use today stimulate very little growth of the uterine lining and thus it is not uncommon for periods to become much shorter and lighter and not look like red blood but more brownish or blackish. This is common and the decrease in blood loss is one of the non-contraceptive benefits of pills - less anemia. Hope this helps. ...Read more
